COMPUTER MICE CAN EAVESDROP ON PRIVATE CONVERSATIONS, RESEARCHERS DISCOVER Researchers at the University of California, Irvine, demonstrated that high-end computer mice can be turned into eavesdropping devices. The “Mic-E-Mouse” technique captures tiny sound vibrations through a desk’s surface using the mouse’s optical sensors, allowing nearby conversations to be reconstructed by software running on a computer.
