A week on The Sims Forums

Sul Sul friends!

It’s Friday, and it’s already the last day of July! We’re getting into August, the best month of the year, because it’s my birthday month 🎁 What is your go-to choice for a birthday cake? I think this year I will be asking for an ice cream cake 😋

What happened this week?

  • On Tuesday, the Coach RePurposed Capsule launched, including a couple of pieces of clothing. Make sure to grab it for free on the Marketplace!

  • On Wednesday, the Marketplace Web store was launch, you can take a look at the new website here.

  • And finally on Thursday, Nigel’s Home for Imaginary Friends was the Gallery spotlight of the week on our social media pages.

Besties for life, posted here by QTSimz

And now let's get to our favourite part!

  • 🔡 Let’s get started with a new challenge from kazynsims , the Alphabet Soup Legacy Challenge. You can start by picking a name or a random word, and each letter of this word defines your generations. If your word start with an A, then your first sim will need to have traits, career choices etc. that start with the same letter (such as Ambitious, or Author). You can spice it up by using a very long word at the start, or by using the order of the entire alphabet for all of your sims. This is such a fun way to break the monotony in your game, and it offers so many different possibilities that everyone will end up with completely different legacies. Make sure to share your progress with us if you’re up for the challenge!

  • 🏗️ SimulationBuilds  has been showcasing some of their rooms builds in My Room Creations, perfect to give you a bit of inspiration the next time you decorate your home. The first room is the Rustic Living Room, a bright cosy space with mustard yellow walls with contrasting darker sofas and curtains, and green accents from all the house plants. With the old TV in the background, it looks like we travelled back to the colourful 70s 🕺 The second room is also a rustic room overlooking Sulan, perfect for a sim who likes to read or study with a stunning view of the ocean. I hope we’ll get to see more of these, they feel very authentic and realistic!

  • 📚 We are getting a new story for our Sims 3 fans with Woods0604’s The Greens and the Wolves, with our heroine Violet Green who moves to Riverview and dreams of becoming a journalist. The house she moves in needs a little bit of work, but it can wait, as Violet has already landed a job! It’s possible that it doesn’t live up to her expectations yet, but she got a bit of money to get a few things for her house, including a computer, so she can focus on her work… oooor create a dating profile, because love never waits 🤗 So if you’d like to read a nice slice of life chapter about Violet and her new beginnings in Riverview make sure to take a look!

  • ✏️ As we know, The Sims brings out creativity in people, in and outside the game. We’ve had painters, sewers, and now we have Shade_le_Vampire’s MicroSims Paint Shenanigans. Described by its own author as “low to medium low effort, but not amazing in humor”, I can only agree with the second part as there is clearly a lot of effort put into those drawings done on good old Microsoft Paint. The game is in itself an infinite source of shenanigans and weird things happening altogether, so I hope we’ll get to see more of Enban and their crowd (especially drawn the way they are, they are so adorable 😙).

  • 💬 Bored of challenges where the purpose is generations or money? Want a social challenge for The Sims 4? Try this one! This is how cocopereira101 is introducing us to the Town Connection Challenge. The goal is to make as many friends as possible by introducing small families progressively and getting them to know each other. You can add more households as your sims reach good friends status with others, or even best friends if you’d like to go for a harder challenge. I think this is a fantastic idea, as it doesn’t look as daunting as a full legacy challenge, but it still has its own difficulties!

And that concludes this week's edition. As always, have a great weekend and see you very soon 💖

Dag dag!
