Official Complaint - Falsely accused of breaching Positive Play #222502931
Hey EA. I've tried to upload the picture attached as my EA profile display picture 5 times now. Every time I get an email falsely accusing me of breaching the positive play charter (believe me, I've read it top to bottom half a dozen times now) "Your EA Account avatar violated our rules. The EA Account avatar you uploaded was in violation of our rules, so we reset your EA Account avatar. Check out our Positive Play Charter to learn what content is appropriate to share, before you try uploading a different avatar for your EA Account." I opened a support ticket (full transcript attached) - No complaint about the support person, I know they're doing what they can do, however I'd now like to make an official complaint and use your complaints process. (Side note, laughably, the advisor said opening a public forum thread is your "official complaints procedure"?! Excuse met? This is bottom-barrel stuff, not something from a company with 43 BILLION DOLLARS!. Also, EA staff on forums clearly in contradiction of this, see here: https://forums.ea.com/discussions/ea-forums-general-discussion-en/where-to-file-a-formal-complaint/11935332) My official points of complaint: 1)Your auto-detection system being demonstrably BROKEN, yet EA having the audacity to send automated fake accusations to CUSTOMERS based on a broken system. 2) 5x false accusations via email and support advisor for "breach of Positive Play Charter". 3) Refusal by EA to even CHECK the image and cross-reference your own charter before continuing with false accusations. 4) Support refusal to escalate case. 5) Missing/non-existent official complaints procedure, relying on a public forum. 6) Refusal to acknowledge there's an issue with an EA system which may be causing a poor User Experience for many EA customers. Next steps: 1) I request a senior member of staff within EA to acknowledge my complaint within 5 working days via email, outlying either a solution, remedy and resolution to my grievances or an update from their initial investigation from my complaint. 2) I request a resolution, full explanation of what has failed here (both automated technical systems, and support/complaints processes) and remedy for the repeated false accusations within 14 working days. If this is not possible within the 14 days, I wish to be given a timeframe for this that shows EA are working promptly to resolve this. 3) An apology for the false accusations made, repeatedly. 4) An explanation of why your official complaints procedure requires me to make this public-shaming post. Honestly, this is was a very small thing at first. I'm now actually quite angry and resent and reject the false accusations raised towards me. I have been trying to recover an old account that used a deleted email so I am unable to do two-factor authentication. Looking likely that I have been locked out of an account forever that I spent hundreds of dollars on a game for. Customer support wouldn't even point me in the right direction to solve this issue. Does anyone know what I could possibly do next? Or should I just accept that I will never be able to recover the old account?SolvedOllieHolmes205 days agoRising Newcomer13Views0likes1CommentNot receiving verification email

Someone used my email to set up an account. I have changed my password but can’t create a ticket because I keep getting asked for a console, which I don’t have because I am not a gamer. If I can’t create a ticket, then I can’t access chat function. It is absolutely ridiculous the steps required to initiate an account deletion, the steps don’t even work, and then the account doesn’t get deleted. I don’t know what to do now and see several others are having same issue. What is EA going to do to resolve because there is absolutely no action I can take to start the process.SolvedJzGArAiOMa6 days agoNewcomer40Views0likes1CommentI lost my gmail and can't restore access.
I lost the email linked to my Steam account and now can’t regain access. I’ve written to tech support a hundred times from the account I’m logged into on the browser and the EA App on my PC, and I can’t change the email through support. I provided screenshots of purchases since everything is through Steam and just linked, the last digits of my bank card, my Steam login, and everything they asked for, except the original email on the account and the date of birth, and they keep saying they CAN’T RESTORE it. EA Support, is everything okay there? Do you need me to buy you some pills?SolvedMONDAYSTARR6 days agoRising Newcomer26Views0likes1CommentSteam linking to EA account doesnt work for EA play
I bought ea play through steam but am trying to play madden 23 which is no longer on steam. When I go on the EA to get madden 23, its not saying I have EA play even though I bought it on steam and have my accounts linked. I have this case number 219395062 that was initially created on august 14th, it is september 8th and I still havent gotten a single email from the tos team regarding details about this ban. Im not sure what caused it and im 100% positive i didnt do anything to break tos. I had trouble resetting password and credentials for this account for the bf6 beta as it seems many others have had as well where my account was showing some @disabled.ea.com email address, at the time chat queues for support were so long i couldnt get in touch with anyone. so i found a workaround of logging into ea via my Xbox single sign on, this allowed me to reset my account email and password and i was able to play the beta! but once the first weekend was over the account was banned without explanation and when i view the penalties on this account they just say “you broke a rule” it has been well past the 10 days to get a response on appeals so now im here making some noise. i know yall on the forums cant do anything about this but i want you to know i have already exhausted all avenues and options and still have not heard anything back. i have spent hundreds over the years on ea games and now am unable to ever play them again on xbox. what a shame! yall really need to do better i have created several appeals and cases and chats all to no avail, support chatters all tell me the tos team needs to respond well they never do! i feel like im screaming into the void! i just want my account back this was 100% banned in errorSolved77Views0likes5CommentsHelp! This is a Ridiculous set up
So I have an OLD EA Account (from 2008) with the same email as my Xbox Account and the 2 were linked a long while ago. i now use Xbox GPU and it linked up to my old EA account but my EA account has changed (was changed in 2013) when trying to link it, it auto linked to my new microsoft email which is now an automatic xbox account. Finally got everything unlinked to link the right EA account to the right XBOX account to find that this isn't possible, only 1 XBOX link in an EA accounts lifetime? So now what i need to create a NEW one? then what about the games i already have linked to this account? this seems so stupid that you can unlink them but cannot link them to another account? I can't even delete the EA account that hasn't been used in almost 20 years... I'm going mad here. 😭Solved22Views0likes1CommentMy Account Was Hacked and Email Changed
Hello, I haven’t logged into my account for a while, but today I noticed that my account has been hacked. The email address linked to my account was [edit: email address removed], but it has been changed by the hacker. Now I can’t access my account at all. My EA ID is MaYiSiin. Thank you.Solved3xpj0pln6cbl7 days agoSeasoned Newcomer10Views0likes2CommentsEA denying access to my account
I have explained to EA in numerous occasions my situation. I do not have access to the email that is used for my account (my account is YEARS old). I removed EA as an app from my computer last year. I have provided EA with SO many specific details regarding my account that would be impossible for anyone else to obtain including purchase screenshots, private details related to my account and more. This live chat system absolutely does not work. How is there no other way to speak to a team member? I have spent so much time and money on EA for so many years, all I want is access to my account but I am constantly denied. One of the verifications is an IP address, this is ridiculous!!! IP addresses change all the time. Has anyone successfully recovered their account? I’m complete at a loss here.Solved18Views0likes1CommentPermanent ban
My account was compomised on May 3rd, 2025. By May 5th, my EA account was banned. Within a few days of this compromise I had managed to recover the accounts that were compromised, and have not had any issues since. However when contacting EA sports in regards to the ban, I was advised that the ban was appropriate and that no further action would be taken. I just want my son to be able to play the Madden '25 I bought him. It's really frustrating as I don't know what else to do.Solved43Views0likes1CommentIssues with Linked EA Account After Steam Hack
Hello, I’m reaching out to share my frustrating experience and hopefully find a resolution or advice from others who may have faced a similar issue. I purchased a game (Need for Speed Unbound) on Steam during winter sales. Haven't launched it since. And now I decided to play it. But when I try to launch the game, it logs into an EA account that I don’t recognize at all. I suspect this is a result of my Steam account being hacked some time ago (around May 2021), during which the hacker might have linked their own or a hacked EA account to my Steam profile. I contacted EA Support and after a detailed conversation, they confirmed that they don’t have the tools to unlink or fix the issue on their end. The best option EA suggested was to reach out to Steam Support to request a refund through Steam. However, since I bought the game almost a year ago, Steam won’t allow for a refund. So it means, I bought a game for a stranger or a hacker. In addition, EA Support mentioned that it’s not possible to contact the owner of the linked EA account, which leaves me feeling stuck. Has anyone else faced a similar situation with a hacked Steam account or linked EA accounts? If so, how did you resolve it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, if EA Support happens to update the situation in the future, it would be great to be informed. I don't want it to become a next-level hacking method (hacking steam accounts, linking own EA accounts to farm games accidentally purchased) so I hope this gets a solution fastSolved18Views0likes1Comment- 14Views0likes1Comment
