Issue with Opening Cheat Console in The Sims 4 on MacBook
Hi!I’m having trouble opening the cheat console in The Sims 4 on my MacBook. According to the instructions, I should use Command + Shift + C, but instead of the cheat console appearing, it takes a screenshot.I’ve tried alternative key combinations like Fn + Command + Shift + C and Control + Shift + C, but none of them work. I’ve also disabled the macOS shortcuts for screenshots in system preferences and switched the game to windowed mode, but the issue persists.The game is updated to the latest version...Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution? Thank you in advance for your help!
SIMS 4 NOT LAUNCHING
I have the Sims 4 in my library but I can't run it. When I try to reinstall it doesn't work and it says the game is not findable. But it's still in my library. I can't find it in my computer either. Is there anything I can do? I've tried clearing the cache and a lot of things but none seem to work. I can't even open it, I can't launch it. It says that content is missing or sth. It says an update is required but I can't update bc my computer can't find the game and I've tried changing the disk permissions many times as well, it doesn't seem to work. I've already tried repairing the game and reinstalling the EA app and it doesn't work. I've been in chatting with 3 different assistants from EA and none were able to find a solution. What do I try next? PD: I also deleted al my CC.
EA App will not launch
I get error code 104: Background Services Crashed every time I try to launch the EA App. Talking with EA "Advisors" has not brought any solution. I've updated my Mac and the EA App, I've reinstalled it, I've reinstalled in safe boot. Nothing. This wonderful, wonderful piece of software just won't work all of a sudden. Any suggestions welcome.
Sims 4 Not Working on Mac Ventura
I'm having trouble getting The Sims 4 to work on my Mac. I have an M1 chip and macOS version 13.3.1. I've tried several troubleshooting steps, but nothing has worked so far: Turned off verification on my EA account. Tried downloading Origin for Mac, but it didn’t work. Downloaded the Reset Tool for origin, but it just bounced on my screen and didn’t open. Tried installing the EA app, but I kept getting a 500 error when attempting to load it. I'm not sure if this is a network issue, as The Sims 4 worksfine on my PlayStation. Does anyone have suggestions or know how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

My saved Sims 4 game was SUDDENLY and AUTONOMOUSLY deleted... I would never have expected the huge EA Games to pointlessly delete my game that I put so much time and effort into. When I looked at what was written, I saw that there were many people who encountered this problem, I still don't understand how you haven't found a solution to this... There is no saved data in the Electronics Art file or any other files, my game didn't come back even though I used the repair option, I think it's floating in space...
Corrupt gallery items
I recently downloaded TS4 and from the get go I have struggled with my gallery. I know it isn't a mods or CC issue as from the initial download the problem has occurred. When I go to the gallery to see the different builds people have created, it takes forever to load and then nothing happens. A big red X shows up where the images should be and when I try to access them, it states the files are corrupted and asks if I want to delete it. This happens for ALL the files in the gallery. The 'My Library' loads fine, but as I'm new to the game, I have no personal uploads apart from the ones that come loaded onto the game. I have tried the following tactics to try and rectify but NOTHING seems to be working: Removing TS4 files, putting it onto my desktop and restarting the game (nothing changes). I have also deleted the Localthumbcache.package, and have tried with and without mods and cc. Excluded all of TS4 files from my firewall (I'm with Norton 365) and excluded it from scans too. I have repaired the game in the EA app untold amounts of times, I only have the base game so although a quick process there seems to be a lot of repairs going on. I am working on a MacBook, I have plenty of memory, no lagging during actual gameplay, and honestly everything has been fine other than the gallery. I understand it isn't a necessity BUT I really wanna have a look and download some of the amazing content people have created! Sorry this is a long one but if this can be fixed I will be forever grateful. (attached files show screenshots of what I'm having trouble with )
Exception Error
My sim eats on her couch and everytime she gets up from eating with a plate in her hand she freezes and the whole game freezes up. My sims are stuck except for blinking and slightly moving their heads. And I have to force quit my game bc it won’t let me save. I got this last exception error at that time- can anyone tell me what this means? I’ve never seen it before.Sims 4 Won't Load
Since I updated my game, it won’t load past the screen that says "The Sims 4," and I keep getting an "Application not responding" message. I’ve tried everything: I removed my mods and custom content, but that didn’t work. I also attempted to repair the game, but that didn’t help either. Finally, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game, yet I’m still experiencing the same issue. Is anyone else having this problem? What else can I try to fix it?
EA App Won't Update Sims 4 for Mac
I haven't played in a while because every time I download the mandatory update "something goes wrong" It looks like a lot of people are having this problem but no one seems to haven an answer for them. I haven't been able to update my game and therefore play it for weeks if not months. I've deleted files from my computer (I've never had problems with my data before), I've cleared the cache and restarted the app multiple times, I have also deleted Origin. If anyone at all knows what I can do to fix this please let me know. It looks like a lot of Mac users have this issue which makes me think it's a larger issue
My game won't update (Mac)
My game just won’t update. I’ve tried three times already, restored the EA app, etc. But the update download is insanely slow. My internet connection is stable, everything else is working fine. I don’t have any other devices on WiFi, yet the download speed keeps dropping until it’s down to 20 kb/s until the whole thing just stops moving. I’m losing it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
sims not opening
being on mac, i used to have origin. since switching to EA, ive downloaded the EA app. i recently bought some packs but noticed they would not show up when opening gameplay. when opening it, id recieve an error code that i thought could be related, and when looking into that, it told me to delete origin since i cant have both on my laptop. after lots of trying to figure it out, i deleted origin. now my game wont open at all. the application bounces in the dock appearing like it'll open, but then the EA app just opens back up and no sims. ive talked to 3 EA support workers on live chat, tried everything they told me as well as some methods on this forum and still nothing. please help.update download FAILURE
i use the "app recovery" "clear the cache" button over and over. the EA app refuses to download the patch update. i have had this hassle every single time since getting the EA app. who else is having this problem? its unbearable. i cant even get help through EA HELP tickets. they havent done anything. i cant get help from anyone
English disappeared after update
Hi, I've just updated the game, and my language automatically switched to Czech, even though I'm living and playing in Ukraine. I uninstalled the game, but now in my language preferences there's no English at all - only Czech, Polish and russian. Unfortunately, I don't know neither Czech nor Polish, and I have no desire to play in russian. Also, shouldn't English be like a general option?
broken update for Mac?
hi, I updated the game on the 22nd and ever since I updated it my sims 4 game thinks my MacBook is a console and I'm unable to play my game. nothing will work on my keyboard to play the game. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling. I've tried repairing the game and nothing's worked. I don't know if anyone else has been having this issue but from what I've been reading this update has been creating issues for a lot of people . it would be nice to get some help on this issue
Crashes on Mac
Hello everyone! My game crashes in live mode. I can't do anything. I can access build mode, but as soon as I try to enter live mode it crashes directly. Please note that I'm on MAC. I've cleared the caches, restarted, repaired the game, with or without mods, it doesn't change anything. Does anyone have the same problem? Thanks a lot!Unable to Play Sims 4 in English – Need Help!
I’m encountering a significant issue. I really need to play Sims 4 in English, but unfortunately, I can’t. Even though my EA profile, EA App, and my Mac are all set to English, the game only offers three language options—none of which include English. As a long-time fan who has played every Sims game since the first one, I’m incredibly frustrated. I’m from Ukraine, and it’s crucial for me not to play in Russian, and I don’t understand Czech or Polish. Can anyone help me understand why the English language option isn’t available for me? I’d be really grateful for any advice or support. Thank you!
