Sims 4 will not download
hello! i am posting here because i am sort of burnt out trying to fix my sims. i uninstalled it a long time ago because it took up so much space. i just recently bought a flash drive though (yes it’s formatted to NFTS) to play sims on it. i was presented with issues downloading it last night and the EA forums initially helped, by deleting my ts4 64 and 86 files i believe and ‘reinstalling’ them. it took well over 12 hours to install the game and packs i have just for it tell me it needs repairs when i tried to launch it. all day the repairs have been stuck at 52% and then it would stop and an error would occur. i tried moving my sims 4 folder out of electronic art onto my desktop at first and it seems to help but then the same problem occurred. i mean it seemed to help because while it didn’t go past 52% the mb below was going up a little but then the error message came up again. i tried doing a lot of stuff i can’t specifically recall, i did clear the cache and restart the app a ton of times. i tried to make exceptions in my antivirus but the only one i have is just the standard windows one and im not even sure i did it right. i also successfully repaired the actual EA app but that didn’t help anything. i do not play with any mods i just have some packs kits whatever that i bought. i believe i submitted a help report thing on the EA app but i am hoping someone here might help me better? i can attach a dxdiag if that’s helpful, but i am burnt out. thanks.
Game is constantly crashing
Hi, I have not been able to play my savefile for about a week now because when I try to load any household, build or cas the game crashes straight away. I have taken all mods out and it still crashes. I have also repaired the game, created a new saves folder, tried other previous saves etc and it just crashes. I have attatched my DxDiag. It crashes on any household and i try to play and i cant even enter a build lot from the world map. The game loads to the world map but then crashes when i try to do anything else.Initialization error at start up <135dec40:90f960cf:00000075:495f32a0>
Hi, for 48h straight I've been having an issue with starting my game. I've tried everything to fix the game, as I've scrolled through the forum, but still nothing, I tried starting it up from the files, tried reinstalling EA app, cleared my mods, deleting the files and making a clean new game, but nothing helped me. Furthermore, I cannot uninstall the game, as my boyfriend suggested, since he thought it could be an issue for the localisation of the files, or the language settings, since I live in Poland. I've been playing this game for over a year, spent more than 2k on all of the add-ons, I'm not mad it's not starting, I'm mad I spent a lot of money into this game and then I can't play it. It all began with the text being codes or invisible, so I tried to delete my mods, as one of your tech guy wrote, then it was this initialization thing I cannot fix in any way. I'm getting really pissed, for I have tried anything you've written in these discussions and nothing seems working for me, especially after I tried for so long and had no results. I'm starting to lose my hopes and believing I will not be able to play this game ever again. Please leave anything that might help me, because anything we thought of is clearly not working for me.
Ondarion won't open, the screen stays completely white
When I click on Ondarion, the screen stays completely white and doesn't finish opening. I can only play with Sims from this world by having them visit a house in another world and then return home. I haven't found any incompatible mods and I'm playing on PC. Has anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix it?
Unable to launch game for a month
Hi everybody! So, I tried to get back to the Sims almost a month ago now and ran into some issues. I have been unable to launch the game; every time I try, I get an error saying that it is on the EA app's end. I worried that it was due to how I tried to download the game; I had added a second internal hard drive to the D drive, and downloaded the EA app there originally, but even changing it back to C drive didn't work. OneDrive also interfered, but redownloading it to ensure that the EA Games folder was generated in the correct Documents folder in the C drive also didn't help. The game would launch, and today got to the loading screen, and then exited back to the app. I haven't seen past the intro in a month. I did attempt to reach out to EAhelp, but previously, there was a warning on my account due to a double charge several months ago, and they assumed the issue was in relation to that and encouraged me to appeal. And while the appeal process did not work. The warning has been lifted, and I still cannot access my game. Regardless, the warning I had would have left me with access to my game, according to the information on the EA site that I was referred to by those who work at EA. So I do not think that this is related to that; I think it is a technical issue. I was just unable to receive help (from Eahelp) due to the stigma attached to that entire incident. I tried reaching out today, but it was some Betaapp option and it kept rerouting me to self-help options listing banned accounts, clearing your cache, etc. As of right now, I have no idea how to get my game to launch. I am able to get other computer games to work, including those running on the D drive itself. So it is not that the computer had issues. Nor that the drive I installed was installed improperly. And I can confirm that the folders for the Sims 4 game are generating correctly in the C drive. I just can't get the game to launch. And I'm not sure what's going on, nor can I reach Eahelp for support. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. After reinstalling both the EA app and the sims 4 my game wont launch at all. I'll click play, it will load for 3 seconds and then the EA app will reappear on my screen. There is no error message or anything. I have tried repairing the files, checking the download location. Verifying the integrity of the files. Even going as far as making sure nothing on my computer windows wise is corrupted. Has anyone had this issue? have there been any fixes for it? Also I should note that I do not have any CC in my game at all it is currently sitting on a different drive.Help please
So yesterday I was updating TS4 and after the update, I tried to play but it kept saying "Unable to start Missing game files" I checked my folder and it seemed normal, other than the fact that I had to move my mods to a USB drive to have the game update for storage, but I didn't think much of it till I tried to play again except with the mods, it said the same thing so I went online and tried to see how to fix it but nothing worked, so I finally decided to make this post and hoping I could get some help with this problem (prob will check for a response tomorrow cause I'll be out)White lines all over screen, unplayable
So months ago I wasn't able to boot up the game at all it would just crash the whole computer. After troubleshooting it finally opens but keeps having these white lines all over to the point I can't see. I also don't know why it's so dark. I've attached screenshots. I deleted all mods completely, I am updated to the latest version. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled, nothing. Last I checked my laptop has all the specs necessary.Buzzing Noise While Sims 4 Is On
So, it's been new in the last month or 2 now. When I run the sims 4, a buzzing noise runs the entire time the game is running. It never used to do that. This is a brand new bug. I had my brother make sure it wasn't my computer, it's not my computer, it's unique to whenever I run the game. It's super annoying,there's no way of turning now the buzzing while the game is running. I tried playing with the volume settings within the game. I essentially can't stand playing the game anymore due to the buzzing issue. I love playing while I have tv shows on and it's just too overpowering that i either have to shut my stereo off or not play the game. It's unfortunate this is a new error that's driving me bonkers. Oh well, maybe it's a sign to get off the computer and get a life. But, I do hope they fix it.
Stuck in CAS
So I have uninstalled and reinstalled sims 4, probably 10 times in the past two weeks. I have deleted all mods, there is not even a mods folder and it still gets stuck in CAS. I can do the scenarios and load into the world fine and it runs, but if I try to CAS and click the check mark it grey's out and will not load. The sim still moves and makes noises but the game does not go anywhere. I turned off my antivirus as well and that did not fix it.
Neighborhoods back to default - Apartments dissapear!
Since last update (feb 2026), all my neighborhoods went back to default when loading the map. Once I open a lot (any lot), it's completely empty! I can try to rebuild or download them again, but that takes centuries! Same in San Myshuno; the map itself looks fine, but when trying to load an apartment, same thing happens. The lot is just grass and downloading or rebuilding an apartment is impossible. The world is unplayable! My sims families are fine and are still where I left them, they just don't have their home anymore. Please helpPC: Cannot click Sims or objects after Feb 3rd
Platform: PC (Windows 11) Game version: Latest version after February 3rd, 2026 update Mods/CC: None (clean game, Mods folder removed) Reinstall: Yes (issue persists) Issue: After the February 3rd 2026 update, the game becomes unresponsive very quickly. I cannot click on Sims or objects to give commands. UI still works (needs panel, time controls, build mode button), but interactions do not appear. This happens: - in Live Mode - sometimes also affects Build Mode (cannot move or rotate objects) - usually within minutes after loading a household What I tried: - removing Mods and cache - full reinstall - repair game - new save - different mouse / touchpad - windowed & fullscreen modes - overlays disabled Other games work fine on this PC. The issue started after December update and became worse after February 3rd update. Multiple players report the same behavior. Expected result: Normal interaction with Sims and objects. Actual result: No response to clicks, game becomes unplayable.Repeated Boot-Loop+ Packs held hostage
Hi. Ever since the update, everytime I would try to run the game, the window would open and appear to load, but then it would boot me out of the window, back to my desktop. The window is still there. But when I click back in on it, it boots me out to the desktop again. When the game does this, it will not even let me close out the window to restart it, so I have to shut off my whole pc or restart it just to get it to stop. I assumed this was because the game was on two launchers (both Steam and EA), so I removed it from Steam. But now it will not let me access my packs... I did not purchase my packs through Steam, but I used the website itself. I am beginning to lose my patience.
The sims 4 keeps freezing
Hi. I don't have any mods or CC installed. I have all packs except the new ones that came this month. I try to play the game but it keeps freezing and makeing my whole computer freeze at the same time. I have tried cleaning the save files and several times used the EA app restore game function but nothing helps.
