How Many Plan on Buying Paralives vs TS5?
Now that Paralives is an actual real thing people won't have to deny it anymore (Steam has a whole page dedicated to it) will you buy it and or continue to wait on TS5's possible MMO? After reading all the job openings for Maxis new AAA game, it's very possible (looking like it's true) that TS5 will probably be multiplayer in some form or fashion..will you jump ship with Maxis?46KViews1like1170Comments- Jayel-15 hours agoSeasoned Ace4.5KViews6likes1506Comments

Yet another life simulation game in the works. Take a look. Krafton is a South Korean video game publisher behind popular games such as PUBG and Subnautica. They engaged with several Sims content creators to get exclusive access to their new game, inZOI, which has only been in development for 1 year (!!). What do you think? I was immediately struck by the realism of the graphics. Very different from the stylized Sims art. The world is gorgeous. FAQs When will the game come out? Jake Solomon is a gaming industry veteran responsible for Marvel's Midnight Suns and the modern XCOM franchise. In March 2023, it was reported that he left 2K's Firaxis studio in February after 23 years. (XCOM’s Jake Solomon is forming a new studio and ‘likely won’t make a turn-based game’) He stated: XCOM director said he would likely make a simulation title, rather than another turn-based strategy game. “My intention, if anybody gives me the funding for it, is to open my own studio locally and make a new kind of game,” he said. “I can’t move too far away from what my experience is. I’m a creative director, but the truth is I’m actually a very in-the-weeds system designer. “I make games as a creative director but I actually end up designing a lot of the systems for the games. Even on Midnight Suns, I had some amazing designers but I ended up designing individual heroes, enemies and their abilities… “System design is important to me, so I want to make a systems-based game. I think it won’t be turn-based strategy… I want to make something that’s more of a life simulator or a simulation-style game. That’s the plan.” In December 2023, Rock Paper Shotgun reported a new interview with Jake Solomon ("Jake Solomon uncut: here's our post-Firaxis GDC interview in full") Some excerpts: You mentioned that you were quite excited by the idea of a life sim game. What life sims have you played over the years? What is it about them that you enjoy? There's a number of things that appeal. Without talking specifically about what it is I want to do, I think that the appeal of life sims is kind of manifold, but I think that, one, it's just life in miniature, right? From model train sets to doll houses to army men, there's something about life in miniature that I think is just naturally appealing. And I think the power of having the life that you want? You think like, 'Oh my gosh, simulating life, like, I already have a life and that feels like enough work!' But being able to have a different life and a life you want, I think it's really, really appealing. Is it those stories that emerge from within the simulation that get you fired up? Yeah, I think that everything feels original, there's a lot of procedural-ness to it, right? And then everything feels original to you because it's procedural. And when it feels original, it feels authentic. And it feels shareable. Even if it's just turning to your partner and saying, 'You're never going to believe what just happened!' Whether it's Dwarf Fortress, or whether it's The Sims or whatever it is, simulation can create some really fun experiences. Now that you're looking more towards the live sim genre, has there been a lot of iteration in it in from your point of view, or is there still room to do something new? Well, Paradox and Ron Humble just did a really neat . I mean, I thought that that take on that straight up life sim was unique. It's interesting to look at. There's a lot of village simulations, right? So I don't know if it's pejorative yet but cosy games, right? There's a sim-ish nature to that even down to Stardew and things like that. And then to see something like Dwarf Fortress go from ASCII to actual graphics and then seeing how popular that is, I think that there's been iteration. But definitely to me, I see an opportunity. As a designer, I see a lot of ways that I'd love to jump in and have my own take on this. SimmerErin recently published a video on the news: What do you think? Have you played any of his games? Personally, I find his background intriguing. I like that he stated that he's been focused on systems-building; this can lend itself to the life simulation genre. In the Sims series, I've always enjoyed in-depth gameplay systems. So just like Vol 1, this will be a question and answer game. You ask a "When was the last time you"... question, and the next person will answer, then ask his or her own "when was the last time you" question. As before, if you haven't done something you can say "I've never done that," or something similar, and still ask a question. Here we go...(again) When was the last time you spent way too much time perfecting your Sim (down to detail) in Create-a-Sim?BadArkane7 days agoSeasoned Ace3.2KViews1like348CommentsSims Console titles on GameCube NSO!
It would be really great to be able to play The Sims 1 for Consoles, The Sims Bustin’ Out, and The Urbz, via the new GameCube Nintendo Classics app on Switch 2! Seeing as SoulCalibur 2 made it onto the app, I would love to be able to play the older titles via said app as on both Switch 1 and 2, we only have the MySims Cozy Bundle right now. :)34Views1like0CommentsThe future of the Sims
Reading the blog post is says they were making new games or basically no more one linear game.Meaning I think we're going to have bunch of different sims games for all sorts of players. I think this would be a really good opportunity to re-release all three of the Sims Stories series of games (Life Stories / Pet Stories / Castaway Stories). The only possible issue is, IIRC, Life Stories wasn't developed by EA, but rather was something that Aspyr made by themselves and EA simply published the PC version (and Aspyr published the Mac version of course) so maybe there'd be a bit of licensing weirdness. Otherwise? It'd be amazing to see these three re-released on Steam, maybe as a bundle. $30 for the three, or $10 each. The one fix I'd hope to see, at least in Life Stories, is the carpool driver endlessly generates in Free Play mode (and maybe Story Mode too - haven't checked). It never stops generating carpool / bus driver NPCs, when it's supposed to use the same three pre-generated ones which are already in all three neighborhoods. There's also a few minor inconsistencies in some of the art assets and a ton of unused content in all 3 of them. In the odd event a person at EA sees this and can at least jot this down: All 3 of the games have a completely unused "SimScript" directory in the game's TSData directory. This folder is about 200 MB in Pet Stories I think, which is a lot of data for something that's not even used in the game, so obviously remove that directory in the event you were to revisit this game. There's a lot more I could say, the various quirks, etc, but I'll hold off now.vcointxt13 days agoSeasoned Newcomer110Views4likes3CommentsThe Sims Medieval Not Working
Hello all, I’ve come on here to express my complete frustration with the company EA and the way they handle older games. I have been sitting at my computer for the past five hours trying to get the Sims Medieval to play. Any time I launch it, the error code 0xc000007b appears. I have tried EVERYTHING. I tried alder patch, I have tried downloading the other DirectX files, I have tried using Process Lasso, running the game as an administrator, the TSM.ps1 code, repairing the game, deleting cache, etc. This game will not work. I tried to reach out to the EA help, but after trying to do everything they recommended and the game still not working, they told me to take my computer to a local technician to try to get it to work. I’m sorry, but after spending money for a game, I feel that it is absurd to ask the customer to go spend even more money to see if maybe, possibly, someone else could fix it. At this point, I am out of options and feel completely defeated. I tried to see if I could get a refund, but while trying to upload files to somehow prove to them that the game does not work, they said I took too long to respond and closed me out of the chat. I have been playing the sims franchise for 10+ years at this point, and really love the Sims 3 and 2. But this makes me want to stop playing for good. For too long now, EA has taken advantage of players and refuses to fix older games like Sims Medieval. I wish there was a way to talk to someone higher up, but all they leave us with is the EA chat, which has not been helpful. My partner plays games like Call of Duty, and even their games from the 2000s still work. If older games from other companies still work, then there is no reason why an EA game from 2001 does not. Does anyone know any way to get this game to work? If not, I will continue trying to get a refund, even though I’m sure that will end up pointless as well. Thank you.Crimmson4791013 days agoRising Newcomer30Views0likes0CommentsHappy Pride Month & National Caribbean-American Heritage Month 2025!

I do not have any affiliation with the sims or any game mentioned. Because of all the hype around D&D lately (such as the tv show and boulders gate -not affiliated) I know, now is the best time to consider this idea! I distinctly remember as a kid playing the sims medieval, and it was my absolute favorite! I believe it would be very popular to blend medieval with bustin' out for a sort of remastered/refreshed version of the game. A story line of starting out as a peasant, moving on to knight, noble, court advisor and finally royalty! Your actions would determine you to be either good or evil royalty. Once you reach throne, your "career" would then be making choices that would either keep your people well fed and happy, send them off to war, or maybe even a revolution against your throne... Perhaps dealing with a mystery within your court? like an evil or good sim, (depending on your choices), trying to sabotage you and take your throne... What else would work for a game like this??TricoLxlycat16 days agoSeasoned Newcomer32Views0likes1Commentcan't launch sims medieval and redeem code

The Sims Medieval not launching
I bought the Sims Medieval two days ago. While the game and the P&N DLC seem to install fine, neither will launch. I don't get a screen, error, or anything. I get the spinning loading icon, and then Origin pops back up. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game five times. I've tried launching it with and without P&N installed. I've repaired the files and tried launching them. I've tried running it in compatibility mode and as an administrator. I deleted the cache files in Origin and on my PC. I cannot seem to get this game to launch no matter what I do. The most luck I've had was to go into the Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > Sims Medieval > Game > Bin, and then tried launching the game and the launcher from there. The launcher gave me an error saying "Unable to start. Please reinstall the Sims Medieval base game." I'm wondering if there's a setting on my computer that's blocking this, but I can't think of what. I'm on Windows 10.Solved30KViews0likes39Comments
