  • Online, mail and phone order sales

Online, mail and telephone order customers have the right to cancel their order for a limited time even if the goods aren’t faulty. Sales of this kind are known as ‘distance selling’.

You must offer a refund to customers if they’ve told you within 14 days of receiving their goods that they want to cancel. They have another 14 days to return the goods once they’ve told you.

You must refund the customer within 14 days of receiving the goods back. They don’t have to provide a reason.

this is the law so there you go

I don't care.  I sell nothing, I refund nothing.  That law has no relevance to the Great Game Guarantee that is as close to automatic as it can be.

  • Whatever There is only one law in the land and origin have to stick by it regardless.

  • @CoffeyN7

Wherever you found that law, it DOES NOT apply to the Origin Great Game Guarentee as it's policy is very clearly stated.  Also, in the OP's case, he said he "opened it", which sounds like he bought a physical copy of the game, which the GGG doesn't even cover, nor Origin sells physical copies.  @Cm0904  will have to contact the retailer he purchased it from and deal with them for a refund, and if he did purchase a digital copy over Origin, he is at the mercy of the GGG.

Maybe so however if he is having problems with the game for whatever reason it is not up to standard, any item has to be as you know, the said item has to do whats on the box if not then it should be either refunded or replaced.  Im not getting into a arguement over this, I have left the game either way, my son now has it, because im sick of <removed> cheating in a game where even the company dont give a damn.

The correct answer on how to proceed was already provided to the original poster in the thread.

None of you is wrong, although I would like to point out that CoffeyN7's link applies to consumers and traders in the UK and the Great Game Guarantee Terms already state that it is in addition to any rights you have regarding returns or refunds, including any right to a refund or other remedy to which you may be entitled under applicable law.

Please see the Returns and Cancellations FAQ and the Terms of Sale for further information regarding your refund rights and remedies.

As there is no point in discussing this further, I will now lock this thread.

    Thank you,

    Nils
