battlefront review. Waste of money. Afraid to buy future game.

Star wars battlefronts teaser made battlefront look like the next best thing since sliced bread. So much so that I pre-ordered the game along with the season pass, expecting to love the game. Once the game launched it was anything but good. The initial game only had 1 thing that made it enjoyable and that was walker assault. Other than that the lack of a decent single player, very limited amount of maps, and small amount of heroes made me not play for a very long time. The weapons were frustrating too, especially at larger distances as the bullet velocity was so slow you had to lead your shots way too much. The only star card that was really cool was the jet pack but would have been nice to have a hover feature on it. Unless the target was standing close to still, snipers were atrocious. I would only play walker assault and only on double xp events, just to try to get into it and enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the old battlefront 2 or similar game battlefield 4. The first dlc packs felt like a wast of money and really should have been free because they didn't really add much to the game that changed it up except more maps, which should have been included in the original release. It wasn't until the Death Star dlc was released that I enjoyed playing the game. Battle station was a wonderful addition to the game and quickly became equal to walker assault in my preference in game mode. I do think this dlc was worth some money but not worth the entire season pass for one game mode and map. It was fun to play for a while but then I began playing other games because 2 interesting multiplayer modes don't completely sell the game for me. After the success of Death Star I eagerly await scarif, hoping that ea had learned from Death Stars success and would be able to some how expand it in scarif. The infiltration mode on scarif isn't bad but it almost seems too close in similarity to battle station, which turned me off a little. I played scarif the opening weekend, due to double xp, but soon lost interest because it was only on one map. So as it stood I truly only saw value in 1 game mode and 1.5 dlc packs. Additionally, I have been trying to play recently to try to unlock some of the other weapons and star cards in hopes that maybe that will change my mind about the overall opinion of the game but I sat for 30 minutes trying to find a game of battlestation today because no one was playing! Sure the game is over a year old but many games still have a fan base of players after several years of it being out and sadly it was the best dlc that had no one playing it!!! This isn't the first time, like how I was trying to play sabotage, just to unlock the sniper pistol but wasn't crazy about the game mode, and Iti would have to search for 15+ minutes at times searching for a game. Clearly others have experienced the same disatissfaction as I have.

Suggestions.

to make the game more interesting to me I would like to see increased bullet velocity, vehicles for rebels on ground maps, a single player with a unique take on the classic stories I grew up with, an increase in hero characters, more maps, more revolutionary game modes like battle station that could be played on more than 1 map, space battles more similar to the ship to ship combat in battlefront 2 only more expansive maps inside the ships and maybe a way to control the capital ships or escort corvettes to add another level of gameplay, the dlc needs to be much more intriguing with more content than 1-2 new maps and 1-2 useless blasters or star cards, and overall give us more value for what we are buying.

In summary

spending over $100 for the preorder and dlc that felt completely incomplete has left a sour taste in my mouth as to if I want to even check out battlefront 2. I am so afraid of being let down again that I am even afraid to wait until redbox rents battlefront 2 out for $3 because I feel that I would be wasting $3. I will in no way preorder the game regardless of whatever specials come with it. If battlefront was initially released with all the content it currently has I may say that it'd be worth the $60 for the preorder and I would hope that dlc to come would do more for us but as it is I'd say the total game with the dlc is only worth around $60. I sincerely hope that this lengthy post is seen by the right people and that things are changed for not just me but for all those that were severely disappointed. I have enjoyed EA games for many many years and hope that my opinion of the company will not be further tarnished.

thank you for your patience and time

    And a few more suggestions.

more starship variety such as playable y wings and b wings etc, star ships customization in abilities and appearance, and maybe the ablity to go from space battle to ground battle seamlessly
