Throttle prompt does not work in first mission

Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Prologue
What were you doing when the bug occurred? Step by Step detail is helpful. In the first mission, when I get to the part like a minute into the game where I’m prompted to press L on the joystick to throttle up and fly off...it blatantly does nothing. I’ve tried restarting from checkpoint and the whole mission, changing controls and remapping buttons, etc. nothing works. Multiplayer throttle and controls work fine so idk why this isn’t.

What happens when the bug occurs? I hear a clicking noise as if the throttle is going up, but it just stays at 0 and my ship and pilot dont move (game isn’t frozen btw)
What do you expect to see? My ship actually fly off
