I also have another suggestion. Please try changing to Performance Mode from the settings on the main menu. Please let me know if this helps or not. Thanks!
I was about to take a video but there is a new 27 GB update . . . Maybe that will fix it. You can imagine it well enough without video though. Whether selecting "continue" or "load journey" and then selecting the save, it goes to the normal loading screen. Black background with a yellow rotating icon in the bottom right corner. It keeps rotating and that is it. Never hear any game audio. I've let it sit for 30+ minutes and it never loads. Before this issue I would say the load times were 10-20 seconds.
I have not tried the performance mode toggle since uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but I tried it before doing so and it did not help.Today's update fixed it for me! Hope that is true for everyone.
Ok so I took a couple videos the other day. The first is the earliest it seems to crash when loading in, the second is the farthest it’s usually able to get.

I tried some tv settings like HDR and Dolby Vision, along with toggling my 4K quality and 120 hz vs 60, but nothing seems to have worked thus far. I have deleted data and restarted, but haven’t reinstalled since the patch today. I can’t enable performance mode on the game, because this is the farthest I have gotten, but I tried settings (like the ones I said above) to put my Xbox in high performance mode, and still nothing has worked thus far. Thanks.

Okay, this is very frustrating. After the update, without turning my console off, I loaded it up to test out and it worked! Happy that I could play later tonight, I saved, quit, and turned off the console, and made my earlier post. A few hours later, back to the same bug of perpetual loading. It isn't the same for me as the videos above, as I described I can get to the main menu and try to load. Toggling performance mode did not work.
I did notice that when I stopped playing for the last time before having this issue, I had fast travelled back to Pyloon's before quitting out. But my save file still had the name of the location I had been previously. I thought maybe it hadn't auto saved before I quit, but when it briefly worked for me today, it did load into Pyloon's. I ran around briefly outside the cantina, and now the save file (that is back to not ever loading) says Pyloon's Saloon.
I will try the last poster's suggestion tomorrow, fingers crossed.

We are currently investigating this issue. When I have some news, I'll post an update.
So I got starting a new game to work, but not initially. Started a new game, quit as soon as I skipped cutscene and had control of Cal. Old save would not load. Loaded the brand new save, and it started back at the opening cutscene. I played a little farther until after the very first platforming section so that it had auto saved into the game. Old save still did not load.
Toggled performance mode to "on" and then the old save did load!
Once again, I can't really play right now, so I hope this isn't a fluke and it doesn't go back to being broken next attempt. I will report back if so. If I never post again, you can assume I'm happily playing the game again. Thanks for investigating and trying to help.

Had the game since launch. I have tried all your suggestions but still cannot play. I have walked 10 steps into the game, which is far as possible. The game crashes at the intro cutscene and on the main menu. It also crashes when I start walking with the police initially. Please help me.

Just did and it still crashes. I tried everything else you suggested. Even deleting my gamer profile and re-downloading. Uninstalled about 5 times now. Changed gamer picture three times. Reset alternate MAC address several times. Changed the console settings around and back to the original state. Changed my background on my dashboard. Reset the console to base state and re-downloaded all software updates from factory settings. Deleted all saved files from my local and cloud storage. Changed in game settings to include performance mode. I have honestly tried everything since launch. I brought the digital version and then got a refund and immediately tried again with a physical copy and it still did not work. All my other games work fine.
I always crash either at the main menu, or the first initial stages of starting a game. I start walking and it crashes. I can sometimes make it to the first stairs but then it will crash. I always have to skip the first cutscene to as it will also crash the game.- EA_Aljo3 years ago

Is the game installed on the internal hard drive or are you using an external drive/expansion memory card?

Thank you. Can you try switching your game to Performance mode and try again?
I turn performance mode on in the first video. I have tried it with it on and off. I have tried everything.

This is a different issue than being stuck on the loading screen so it doesn't apply to what is being reported. In the first, please make sure you're posting new issues in their own threads. Unfortunately, I don't have anything else to suggest for this. Please open a case with an advisor here to see if they can assist. Thank you.
You asked me to collect information on my issue. This I have done. I have also explained my issue at large which others have also reported.
You asked me to show you when and how I crashed. So I did. This is not a separate issue because you already had known about my issue (as we discussed).I can’t even play the game at all. Why is my issue not important now that I have shown you proof that the game is utterly broken.

I understand, but this thread is actually for the issue with getting stuck at the loading screen. You can get past the main menu. This is a different issue and one I don't have any other suggestions for.
Ok I’m confused. You keep asking for videos but multiple of us have already sent them. Are we actually making progress on this issue? You said you have shared the videos with the team but we still don’t know anything! I’m sorry this just gets frustrating, and I know there are a lot more issues than these but I’ve been reporting this issue for over 3 weeks now, and nobody can tell me anything at all? I really wanted to play this game by the time my summer started, but here we are, and I still don’t have a clue when or if I will get to experience the game. I just really hope this isn’t something where support kind of dies off after the first two weeks and once most of the issues are fixed then the less common get ignored. I haven’t even been able to accept the terms of service for this game that’s how sad this is! Again, I don’t mean any harm to anybody, I really just want to help in any way I can so this gets fixed.
