Sad to say this, but...

Battlefront 2015 is better built in terms of good mechanics, big maps, freedom of movement and infantry units are not as overpowered as Battlefront 2's reinforcements and heroes. Battlefront 2's potential was there but it was brought down by unnecessary requests, the pay-to-win fiasco, factions inbalances, etc.

The few issues with Battlefront's 2015 are the overpowered Chewbacca, and OP loadout, unlimited hero glitch, and a few game breaking and sequence breaking issues. You can tell the dev team spend more time creating this game. What about the TIE targeting computer sounds (soft lock) feature missing from Battlerfront 2?!

No Shocktroopers or Shadow troopers as reinforcements, and very few customizations for Empire and First Order which became immersion breaking at some point. If the fans can get it right with mods, why not the dev teams? I have been a huge supported of the movie only accurate stuff for any future Battlefront games, exclude cartoony features like those awful helmets worn by the ISB agent (should had been the black Imperial officer cover).

Also the faction inbalances, in Battlefront 2015 your chances of attacking and killing an enemy are varied depending on where you place your shot. I managed to kill a rebel infrantry guy with a single headshot from my E-11, while in Battlefront 2, it takes 2 shots, 3 or 4 for body which is an awful idea.

I can list down the hundreds, or even thousands of issues with Battlefront 2. As for the eras, I cared little if Clone Wars or Sequel Trilogy was there, was more in for the gameplay than the era shuffle.

Also, heroes don't need passive healing or health buffing abilities each time they kill an enemy. Battlefront 2015 only had the bacta grenade, which only gave heroes 30% health buff, not a 10% each kill.

Making heroes inconsequential to the battle also made Battlefront 2015 fun and gave those Star Wars vibes. The idea of locking heroes behind a BP standard at 4000 BP today was a terrible idea. Just because Joe Schumuck can't get a hero because he/she sucks at the game shouldn't be a standard to punishing players to assist those who can play offline or CO-OP. Carrying the weight of a team is frustrating.

My only reason to revisit the oldie, but goldie Battlefront 2015 is because it's a better designed game. Too bad it's getting shoved down the grave with EA not wanting to patch it for 4k or PS5. End of the rant...

  • @DarthFDG it's very impressive and still holds pretty good to this day. My records say I have sunked in 1300+game hours since 2015 and play it almost every day.

    @Edairman198526  It’s true.

There was potential for BF 2 but as time went on it became clear that DICE really just aren’t suited to making games like this.

Bugs and mechanics are one thing and, yes, both are bad in BF 2 but the real “elephant in the room” is the creative that went into the design.

The bugs and mechanics are made WORSE because of the poor creative direction the Devs chose to go in. The fact that they just failed to recognize how all of these aspects combined to make one of the biggest flips is shocking.

In over 30 years of gaming and gameplay testing, Star Wars BF 2 has to be the most “what were you thinking” game Ive ever seen! And I grew up with Action 52!

  • @VetteC5RXmany people suggested that taking the core mechanics of Battlefront 2015 and go from instead of starting a new game with mechanics that were not properly tested Battlefront 2015 had 3 years or more in the making for it's 2015 release, while Battlefront 2 only has 2 bumpy years of development and it shows.

In Battlefront 2015 I can only think of a few broken things like Chewbacca vs infantry, the A-wing and X-wing vehicle ramming, latency, the server and matchmaking loading times, and a few op loadouts. Other than that, heroes are extremely inconsequential to the fight and not heal with passive broken skills like they do in Battlefront 2.

The passive hero healing ability broke the game beyond measure and as the 100 (raised from 50 which was broken and unbalanced) when the unit cap for Galactic Assault that should had been 250 +/- depending on the map.

The incessant Clone Wars content ranting was another issue that got prioritized over fixing the game first then releasing such content created a cesspit of inbalances. Anakin broke the game, and so did the hero cost of 4000 for all eras that should had been 4000 to 8000 for current era and 12000+ for out of era which was somehow like that when the game released and things were better balanced.

I play Battlefront almost everyday and capped like 1,387 gameplay hours since Nov 2015. A game which is better built, more balanced between factions, and less stressful when it comes to defend or attack the objective.

  • @LafenChuck 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Jokes on you...No wonder why with such a "perfect hero gameplay" Anakin breaksthe game in all the maps across all the eras. A "better" built game doesn't have input stacking, terrible parry mechanics, and overpowered Han Solo that can knock blocking lightsaber heroes, a Leia that has become a sniper OHK, and a lethal CQC character from a more defensive role she had when the game released. Also, there is no stamina titan Luke and a Yoda with double blocking abilities. Those heroes are broken yet you come here saying they are better built.

@Edairman198526 BF 2 doesn’t have a parry mechanic at all … what most people see is more inability of the game engine to resolve.

most commonly what happens is inputs will get garbled and it will affect the directional orientation of the character. Some players have “interpreted” this as a parry stun; it’s not. This is really easy to trigger with a Luke or Rey who can have a high saber swing speed and can essentially spam swings against most villain saber users without consequence (save for Dooku).

They spam the game until it lags and think they did a parry.

There really would be no way to incorporate any kind of legit parry mechanic with the wide variety of saber strike rates and styles they put into the game.

You’re right though; Hero structure in BF 2015 was way better. It was more simplistic and that kept it balanced and stable. BF 2 is nothing but game breaking imbalances which is solely due to poor quality logic, creative, and development.

The only people who praise BF 2 are the YouTube followers who get their strats from toxic gameplay videos that profess that many of the games bugs and imbalance exploits are good and intended gameplay!

The worse lately is the “let’s crank up input sensitivity to the max to exploit Reys dash strike” It’s now almost “claw rush 2.0” .. those movements juke the garbage hit detection, register a hit, do the knock back and allow Rey to follow with a saber strike or two. it’s like they didn’t even play test this.
