Please update your game to V1.29

    PS4 Update and Power Instructions.

    Spoiler

    1. Turn off Your system completely, let it sit for a few minutes and power it back on.

    2. Make sure your game is up to date.

    • Go to the PlayStation home screen.
    • Highlight the game you're playing and press the Options button on your controller.
    • Select "Check For Update" and install any updates that are available.
    • Restart the Console completely.

    3. Make sure your Console system software is up to date

    • Select Settings at the top of the PlayStation home screen.
    • Choose "System Software Update" and allow any system updates to install.
    • Reboot your PlayStation 4.

If the game is still crashing on Travel, Exiting the CAS/Build mode, or when Saving and Exiting please let me know.

@PoptartJuniper I will try to test my game the next time I play it. I updated to V1.29 and have played since then, but honestly I’m so conditioned at this point to try to avoid the triggers, I can’t remember if I’ve done too many of them. Unfortunately it really limits how I play. I will purposely test it next time I play. I did learn that going into CAS and going into Build Mode from the Manage Worlds screen, as opposed to going in and out from within a household, does significantly reduce the crashing for those things, but it’s a very inconvenient and time consuming workaround. I started crashing more and more when traveling though and I don’t think there’s really a workaround for that so that’s been a very gameplay-limiting issue. I will play test and if I do continue to crash I will try to send over my save file to look at. Thanks!

@PoptartJuniper My game is still crashing. I didn’t see anything in the patch notes for V1.29 indicating this crashing issue was addressed, so I’m not surprised, but you indicated above for people to let you know if it was still happening. It is. It continues to frequently crash when exiting the game, when traveling, and when exiting build mode. I haven’t been in CAS since the update, but I’m guessing it’s still crashing then as well.

@KEW0701 I ask at patches, because the bug team does not list all the issues they fix in the patch notes. Sometimes many weeks will pass and no one will have posted in these error threads so I don't know if the issue was resolved so I ask.

Please share your save as indicated in the troubleshooting post if you have not. Crash Troubleshooting and Save Sharing.

@PoptartJuniper OK. I will try to make some time in the next day or so to share my save file. This issue is BEYOND frustrating and makes key components of the game unplayable. Very frustrating for a game I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on. The other night I aged up an infant into a toddler, spent some time in CAS dressing the toddler only to have it crash when exiting, losing all the changes I made. Complete and utter waste of time. You cannot save before exiting CAS so that is one of the worst ones. There is no way to protect yourself from losing your changes and completely wasting your time. Traveling is another big issue because there is no workaround for how you travel Sims. This console crashing issue has been a long standing issue that you can find bug reports on going back as far as 2017, yet it remains an issue to this day. And it only continues to get worse with time. :-(
  • My current game version is 1.24; I have not dared update with the new patches considering all the problems introduced with them.

I'd hate to say it but I was nearly on the verge of tears last night.

I went to play one of my favorite households, one that has worked perfectly ever since my beloved character Brigitta got married almost 3 years ago, and it caused the game to crash. 3 Times. And I can't understand why.

My playable households are dwindling and I have no idea why and EA won't even fix these crash errors.

I guess my Dad was right. This game has no competition so EA has no incentive to fix any problems. Why spend money fixing them when they can easily put all their effort into making a new game pack that WILL make them money?

No matter how many updates they add or patches that come out, the game still crashes when you go into build mode, where a lot of the key items are stored for purchase in a lot of the dlcs. If you go to build mode more than 3 times, it will crash. Guaranteed.

What will it take for the devs to take care of their customers? They shouldn't release one more dlc before they resolve the crashing. Don't you have a qa team that can investigate these crashes??? Sony reports them everytime. They have to have some data that can be used to get the game fixed or else, what is the crash data for?

I almost don't even want to play this game because I can't play it for more than 30 minutes!!!!

Do not add another dlc to this game before you make the game playable again!!!!!! It's just not fair to players and customers like myself that have purchased every single dlc for the game but can't even enjoy it!

    EDIT by EA_Jason: Removed caps.

I'm not going through all of that when clearly it hasn't helped us from the numerous other saves that have been uploaded. This can't be the only way that they realize problems as a lot of the players don't even log into this forum. Just recognize the bug and fix it please.

Last night, I tried to play numerous households in Oasis Springs and each of them crashed.

    Anna & Courtney: CRASHED

    Brigitta & Sakura: CRASHED

    Pina & Jodie: CRASHED

    Laura & Katherine: CRASHED

    Beverly & Zoe: CRASHED

A couple of months ago, they would've loaded perfectly first go. For some others households, it takes 3 goes to get it to load but if it hasn't after 3 consecutive tries, no luck. So now, no households in Del Sol Valley, Windenberg, Brindleton Bay, Oasis Springs and several others elsewhere will load. WHY???

Why won't you fix this EA!!! I am losing my game, my beloved Sims that I have come to adore every single day since they were created years ago and EA won't do a single thing about it.

I feel your pain they took our money and give us the run around while still releasing new content. It’s greedy sad and mean and that’s me stating facts mildly .
