Re: Sims Medieval Stuck on Finalizing Install on Mac Origin

@AeriaRenegade , if you got a new Mac, I'm guessing that the OS is Catalina. I'm afraid that Sims Medieval will not run on Catalina as it does not support 32 bit games and Sims Medieval is a 32 bit game. The only way to run Sims Medieval is to do one of the following:

a) Bootcamp your Mac to run Mojave which was the previous Mac OS and it runs 32 bit games or see if you can run Mojave off of an external hard drive or thumb drive.

b) Bootcamp your Mac to run Windows or buy a virtual machine program like Parallels to run Windows.

At this time there are no plans to update Sims Medieval to run as a 64 bit game.

Thank you for your answer. I am having the same issue.

It's really disappointing that it doesn't make any mention of this in the System Requirements:

    MAC
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard or higher
    Processor: Intel Core Duo Processor
    RAM: 2GB RAM
Video: ATI X1600 or Nvidia 7300 GT with 128MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100.
Hard Drive: At least 6.1GB of hard drive space with at least 1GB of additional space for custom content and saved games
This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems, or the GMA 950 class of integrated video cards

@Gloomerpvss , I will see if EA will update the requirements for the game. Please note that at this time there are no plans to make Sims Medieval 64 bit.

Wow, just ran into this same thing, so frustrating it lets you purchase content that isn't possible to play.

@itsjcw31 , please contact EA Help to get a refund if you so desire. There are ways to play the game. The first is to either Bootcamp your Mac with Windows or Mojave (the Mac OS version prior to Catalina that supports 32bit games) or to have an external drive that has Mojave on it.
