My party animal is on the third tier. She threw a gold birthday party, and it registered that she attended, but not that she threw a gold party. Very annoying. And her daughter has the same aspiration. Hoping this will be fixed soon, since it's my Legacy Challenge game.

I'll see if I have a save that goes that far back. She's since met the Grim Reaper, but she did finished the aspiration first. It just seemed like not all of her parties registered (so we had lots of parties). Her daughter, the party animal, threw a birthday party for Mom when Mom turned elder, and it was gold, but she didn't get credit for it. Maybe it's just the birthday parties that are an issue.

Guys birthday parties count as parties attended but not hosted, when you throw a Birthday party the Birthday Girl/Boy becomes the host.  Here is an example of the structure of parties that count and don't count.

Here is the structure of a normal social even party.

Your first parties start on tier 2, Earn Silver on 3 social events, to complete this you need to be in the host category of the party and not a guest, it don't matter if you throw the party or not.

Throw 3 Parties, to complete this you must throw 3 parties, host of 3 parties, the only exception is the birthday party, they become hosts of their own party even if they didn't throw the party it will still count towards thrown parties if they have that aspiration, they could Earn silver on it or gold on it and it will register on their aspiration, not yours, but it won't count towards thrown parties unless the birthday boy/girl is the one throwing the party.

Here is the normal party setup.

Host = These are the people that thrown or help run the party equals "earn" in social events or thrown parties for Tier 2, 3 and 4, for Tier 2 you must be in the host group for it too count, the rest is the person throwing the party = Cell phone.

Guest = Attendances this counts for parties attended as "guest" if host cater or mixology this will not count as parties attended, because you must be "guest to count for that.

Service = Sim will count toward tier 2 since your part of the hosting party this includes, Mixologist, Caterer and Entertainer, but will not count for tier 2, 3, 4 thrown parties unless your sim is the one throwing them.

Here is how Birthday parties are setup.

Birthday Girl/Boy =Honorary Host, and even if they did not throw the party they can still complete Tier 2 Earn Silver on 3 social events, but won't count for thrown parties unless the birthday boy girl is the one throwing the party, also it won't count as attendance either since he/ she is not "guest" at the party.

Guest = Is pretty munch the same as the above, except even the person throwing the party unless he/she is the birthday sim or service sim will be counted as "guest".

Service = Same as above, but will not count for thrown or attended parties, except if your sim is the one that throw the party.

So Birthday parties are not meant to register as thrown parties.

I do believe that the non prestige parties count as thrown or attended, except you will not get your reward for reaching silver or gold.

Edit: Note, sometimes parties do not know they end if you have a group active from GT, must end the group to complete the party sometimes traveling to the community lot and back will end the party if you have stuck guests, that don't want to leave.
