Re: [FIXED] [JGB] Townies in Batuu are missing face masks

I just started playing the new Star Wars: Journey to Betuu pack for the Sims 4 and I have noticed that most of the Batuu citizens are showing up without alien features, they are either bald or have human hair and some skin details. None of them, with the exception of Hondo, have alien heads. I took out all of my mods thinking that could have been the problem and started a new, fresh save file and I am still encountering this glitch. I have attached some of the screenshots.

Hi @ShadowPheonix132  Do you use any mods or cc? There could be an incompatibility or broken mod..  There is also a mod called 'no ugly aliens' or similar, just checking..

  • No, I removed all of my mods and CC and started another new save file. My first thought was that it could be the mods so that is why I removed them. I am currently playing a save file with no mods or CC and I am still having the glitch.

i'm having the same issues. At first I thought it was MCCC, worked previously with MCCC but after the new update the aliens showed up all bald. I also removed all my mods and started a mod free new game. same results.

Hi, ok then.. @ShadowPheonix132  I've just checked my game, and do have the same 'character' in my game, he shows as a 'Batuu Resident', but may just be his 'look', he is 'human' however and not an 'Alien' as such.. I do have plenty of Aliens in my game though, and there are many humans that: visit or reside in Batuu, they don't appear as 'usual' as other areas of your game, they do 'blend' in well to Batuu, and could also be the 'resistance' or similar.

A few other ideas, did you also delete the localthumbcace file? When disabling mods and cc, it's important to do, as it has lingering affects.

    1. Try repairing your game, with the cog, near 'play'
    2. Try a clean boot and clearing the cache (info below)
    Spoiler

There is a step by step here on Clearing Cache Files (you can also move it to the desktop instead of deleting if you want to be on the safe side).

Another idea for you is to to a Clean Boot of your pc.

Here's a troubleshooter. and another troubleshooter post by Crinrict

    Hope this helps..

edit: since Crinrict merged, and have been playing a while, yes.. there are a few bald Aliens (looked human), I sent to edit in 'CAS' this time to check.. the skin was marked as 'white/light tan' but the particular sim I chose, looked 'normal' in CAS, ie: it was blue-skinned, the 'hat' / Alien head was in place, however ONLY in CAS, so have also clicked 'me too'.. on this new thread.

Wondering if it's attached to the New Nov 'Townie Fix', re: the hat usage.. as they're certainly not 'regular' hats.. 🤓

re: Alien Heads are found in hats,(not masks) as EA has made them available. js.

  • I also had been having this problem with my install and thought it was down to my CC as I dont recall ever seeing any aliens on Batuu.

I reinstalled the entire game and started from a fresh save with no traces of previous games anywhere and all I see are the green skinned Miralans, and the Zabrak Tattoo's.  All alien Hats appear to be missing (including the miralans) although a few townies still wear the 'flight' style hats so it isnt that hats have been forbidden here.  I reinstalled the sim-info mod to see what is happening and the sims still have their alien traits but do not wear alien uniforms.

    I also have this problem.

Essentially, the Batuu locals are not wearing any alien masks at all. Mirialan and Zabrak face paint exists on some bald males and females with hair. Hondo Ohnaka is properly masked, though.

I have never used many mods to start with, but I tried all the self-help options before searching here.

To be utterly certain about my report, here is what I have done, in order:

    1. I deleted (its backed up elsewhere of course) the entire Sims 4 folder from here: C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts

    2. I ran a Repair Game in Origin on the Sims 4 installation

    3. I loaded up a brand new game that created an all-new Sims 4 folder, so, absolutely no mods, CC, or even a Tray of sims/lots.

    4. I imported Babs L'Amour from my freshly created Tray of Maxis-included sims, and replaced the first created family with Babs for starting the game.

    5. I placed Babs in an empty starter house in Oasis Springs.

    6. I clicked Babs' phone and sent her immediately on a vacation to Batuu.

    7. I wandered the zone for a while until a good number of sims had spawned in.

The local Batuu sims were in the same unfortunate state as before: "Batuu locals are not wearing any alien masks at all. Mirialan and Zabrak face paint exists on some bald males and females with hair." Reputation NPCs (Scoundrels, First Order and Resistance member NPCs) have appropriate costumes and helmets on, but no alien masks/headpieces among them, except for Hondo Ohnaka, who appears correctly.

I was JUST about to reinstall the whole game when I found this thread.

    My system:

    ----------------

CPU: Intel i7-6700K Skylake at 4.18 GHz
GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 970 with 4GB GDDR5 Samsung memory
    RAM: 32 GB of dual-channel DDR4 3000 (four 8GB DIMMs)
MoBo: ASUS Maximus VIII Hero with Intel Skylake chipset and Z170 Southbridge, BIOS Version 1902
    OS Drive: 1 TB SSD
Additional Storage Drive: 1 TB SSD
    OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit, build 19041

Update 11/15/2020: I decided to try a full reinstall. I have every expansion, game pack, and stuff pack. Except the hamster Pets addition. I don't have that. Anyway, I uninstalled the Sims 4. I reinstalled the game and all 24 Packs. I deleted my entire Sims 4 folder from my Windows Documents folder before I started, so the new game created a fresh folder too.

Again I started with Babs L'Amour and took her straight to Batuu.

There are still no alien masks.

I'll attach some screenshots, but my save file exceeds this message board's allowance, even zipped. If you want it, just direct-message me and I'll email it.

Have to admit, not played Sims since November, but came back yesterday with a new game, and noticed this issue. I've tried using testingcheats to modify the offending Baatu townies in CAS and manually applying a new alien hat, but as soon as I exit CAS they get stripped of it again.
I have seen Baatu Townies around with the non alien head hats, so it's not an overall 'hat' issue, just the alien head ones.

I went in and edited a Batuu townie to add Zabrak horns. When I got out of CAS he didn't have them, but the next time I saw him, he did. I also had access to all of the CAS items, not just the Batuu pieces. That might be because I went ahead and reactivated the mess of mods I run. If Batuu is gonna be glitched with or without them, it might as well be with them.
