[ARCHIVED] Sims Freezing in place Cottage living

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.77.131.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the game normally, while living in the new world Henford-on-Bagley and having all the new animals on the farm and pets.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sims will freeze unexpectedly while doing simple tasks, and doesn't seem to move past this task on to others, it also causes all sim, pets, and animals in the whole game to stop doing anything.
What do you expect to see? To see my sims be able to perform normal tasks throughout the gameplay without them freezing in place
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This has never happened in any of my other games until the recent patch update and new pack, they will be told to do a task such as play with the dog, or talk to another sim near a park and end up stuck in the command or will stop randomly and stand for minutes at a time. I've removed them from their homes and placed them in new lots, but it ends up happening again and again. I've tried resetting the game, I've debugged the sims, I've evicted them from their house thinking its the lot, repaired the game, removed broken cc/mods that aren't updated yet, new save file, though none have made a difference in them freezing up again, while the time moves on. Is this a new bug with the pack and patch? Is there an update coming to fix? Or is there another way I can do to fix this bug?

    @kat3074 When you reset your game, did you play without any mods/cc as well or just remove the ones that are known broken ?

    If you have not tested without any at all, please do so.

    I am having the same issue.

    It has been suggested that it is caused when you task a sim and then move away from them so they are no longer in view. I did not go back in yet to test to see if that is the only time it happens, but it definitely DID happen multiple times when I did that; just unsure if it also happens other times.  But yes, when out of view they no longer complete items in their task queue and when you go back to them, you have to cancel at least the next task to get them to move again.  

    I have no mods or cc installed and have packs except the Batuu one and two of the kits. 

    It is making it pretty difficult to play a family.

    The only thing that seems to help for me is to rest my sim or to teleport them somewhere else so they start moving again. Not ideal but it's at least a way to keep playing.

    I had this after the new patch and installing the new pack. I would tell my sims to do something and they'd just stand there. I tried playing with a previous family I'd created, and it worked fine. The only difference I could see was that the old family didn't have pets, whereas my  new family had a cat and dog. So i removed the cat, and it worked for about 5 minutes when the same issue started occurring. So i removed the dog from the household too and my game has worked fine since. 

    I removed the pets with the edit in CAS cheat - ctrl, shift, C - type in 'testingcheats true' and press enter, and then type in 'cas.fulleditmode' enter. Hold shift and click on any household member and then click on edit in CAS. It will open up CAS and then I just deleted the pets from the family. 

    I haven't tried re-adding them yet.

    I have been having the same problems with the biggest lot in henford i played the game with mods without mods

    fix my game about 5 times

    and for some reason its only this lot.

    i really want to just play the game and nothing seems to be working my sims just freezes and dosent do anything

    This is still happening in January 2025

    Cottage Living Glitch-Sims stuck in one position

    I don't use mods at all! Never did! I purchased the Sims 4 Cottage Living around Christmas time 2024. It was working fine for about a week then when I went to play, when I click on the sims to do tasks they wouldn't respond. I  tried repairing the game but nothing. So I uninstalled then reinstall everything including the EA app. Even after doing all of that the game still wouldn't work. 

    I wouldn't give up so I started thinking what was the last pack I installed. So again I uninstalled the game then reinstalled everything EXCEPT the Cottage Living game and now it works fine.

    Can EA please look into why Cottage Living is glitching out and not working properly?
