This worked! Thank you!

For anyone reading. Log off to completely close any sims applications & downloads open. Then when you log back on just open origins and try the update again.

When I took this advice it worked.

    I have window 8.1 there is no logg off ...i need another solution i can't play , when i update it failed at 75% help

    Dear all,

    As yesterday I tried to update sims 4, it was failing and so I decided to uninstall and try install it again. But I have been encountering this error the whole time.

    "We've encountered a problem

    An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again in a few moments.

    Error: -4:302"

    Please help:robotsad:

    what i did i went offline mode and there was no update then i click play BOOM! i CAN the sims 4

    I have Windows 8.1 and you just need to click "origin" in the top left hand corner, and "log off".

    I can't do that because whenever I try to log out it says I can't because I'm updating the sims 4 which is stuck on 100

    yes mine says that too.. and says do you want to have to start the whole update again.  something like that....I used almost all my data i have to download to get to 995 I am not about to lose the update that i have so far.  Why wont they put out a fix for this...we shouldnt have to do anything with these updates but install them...so pissed
