Adding friezes changes height of spandrel and columns used inside
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.104.58.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Build a large room with mid or tall walls. Draw a wall to divide the room into two rooms. Add a couple columns along that wall. Change that wall to a spandrel. Add a frieze around the outside of the room. The columns and spandrel drop to the height of the bottom of the frieze just like it normally does when columns, spandrels and a frieze are used outside for something like a porch. Standalone columns inside do not drop after adding a frieze, only when combined with a spandrel.
What happens when the bug occurs? The spandrel and columns drop to the height of the bottom of the frieze.
What do you expect to see? The columns and spandrel stay at the height of the wall, so they go up to the ceiling. Friezes should not intrude into the interior.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
As I said above, when a frieze encircles a room with a bisecting wall that has been replaced with a spandrel, the spandrel will drop to the height of the bottom of whichever frieze is used. Any columns along the spandrel will also drop to that height. Free standing columns will retain their height though.
In my testing, I found that when the wall is changed to a spandrel, the frieze will intrude inside the room and be visible until both rooms you create by bisecting the room have friezes. Then it disappears leaving the lowered spandrel and columns. The frieze also behaves the same way when the wall is changed to a fence or a half wall so spandrels, fences and all half walls are affected by the intrusion of the frieze. It doesn't do that when a wall remains a wall. It does not happen with the Exterior Trim, only friezes.
Simply put, the frieze used on the outside should not affect anything inside a room unless the player deliberately wants to apply one inside and does it intentionally.
I tested this in a vanilla user folder and save with no mods or cc present.
