I Can't Update to The Sims 4 to Version 1.4.83.1010. Please help.
I keep trying to update The Sims 4 but everytime it starts finalizing the update, it says that the download failed and it pauses the update. I've been trying to update for three days but never can. I got the mods and custom content out of the game, I got an internet connection, and still it keeps saying, "Download failed." Can someone please tell me what I can do to get the update to download so I can get back to my sims.
I ran into this problem, too. Here's what I did to fix it:
1. Run a clean boot2. After your PC restarts, launch Origin
3. Origin will start updating
4. After Origin is finished updating, log in*
5. The Sims 4 should complete its update and be ready to play.
*After updating, Origin didn't re-open for me like it usually does. I had to find it process in my Task Manager and kill it, then relaunch Origin again. This might not happen to you, but just a heads up!
You may be able to skip the clean boot step and replace it with just a simple restart. Running a clean boot is one of the first steps I always take when I run into a problem, which is why I included it. 🙂
