No I added the Scare Seeker challenge to my home lot for the Reaper mission, and after awhile I noticed it doesn't really do anything except make my sims bored so I took it off. But even after taking it off, my sims still get that bored moodlet for having no scares. I even moved them to a new lot and they STILL get the bored moodlet. I'm having this too. I got tired of random sims coming for a scare on my lot so I removed the lot trait. Now I get the specific ghostly bored moodlet sometimes when I load into the game. The sim wasn't even doing anything. Also when I move them to another lot the moodlet just comes up. while the new lot never had the trait or any other. I've repaired the game and refreshed the sims 4 documents file. Still there.

Okay, after digging in a bit, I found a hidden trait on my sims that were active when I added the lot trait from the event, and it does seem to remain attached even after that household has been moved to a different lot. The trait is r3event_thrillseeker. I removed that using cheats, and the buff finally stopped re-applying.It seems to be a little bit like how once a sim unlocks all their discovery traits, even if you use a retraiting potion to remove them, a hidden trait remains which prevents new discovery traits until you manually remove the hidden trait yourself.

Yes it has a timer, I think it lasts for 3-4 hours.It does not immediately reapply after expiring, but it eventually comes back.I've tried doing the "scare" mischief interaction on a sim with the moodlet but it doesn't solve it as far as I can tellI've tried cheating the moodlet away but it eventually comes back again. And I don't want to get rid of all moodlets every time it pops up; that would be way more annoying than having one bored moodlet sometimes.

PS4, no mods. Updated to patch 2.02 as of Oct 31st.My sim has the stuck bored moodlet from the lot too...but he's been dropped into a completely new save and into a house without it. His previous house in another save had it, but the current one does not have it and never has. So this bug transfers with sims across save files if the sim has previously lived in a house with the lot challenge.

A few questions for you:

- Does the bored moodlet have a timer on how long it would last?
- If it does have a timer, does it reapply when it expires?

- Does anything happen when you do something that would make a Sim "not bored"? (In this case, does "scaring" the Sims do anything since the plot trait was removed?)

Possible Solutions:

1) Repairing game files
2) Using console commands to remove moodlets
- If on PC, press "Ctrl + Shift + C", if on console, press all four shoulder buttons

- Type "testingcheats true" (without the quotes) into the command box and hit enter
- Type "sims.remove_all_buffs" (without the quotes) into the command box and hit enter
This will remove all the moodlets on the current active Sim. (It should also help if any other moodlet is somehow bugged as well).

However, if you only want to remove the bored moodlet, you can try "sims.remove_buff social_bored" or "sims.remove_buff e_buff_bored" instead, but I'm not sure if these are the same moodlet debuffs used by the Scare Seeker lot trait.

Let me know if either solution had worked for you.

@Backstabbath88 It seems you might have mistakenly copy/pasted some restaurant related issues in your original post, there's a few lines of restaurant text in there. I don't know anything about the lot trait bug but thanks to your post I'm not going to be applying this in my save ☹️

- Doing the same interactions and conversation repeatedly

- Doing anything else that would make the Sim feel bored, (such as having a Sim with level 4 cooking read a bunch of level 1 cooking books)?

Furthermore:

- Does the Sim have any other trait that might cause them to be bored?

- Were they getting bored before the lot trait was added, or was it only noticable afterwards?

- Do they have any other moodlets or is the boredom moodlet the only one applying?

With these questions, I hope to narrow down what might be causing the Sims to still feel bored.

Do you know what this trait is meant to do?
My sim only got bored and I randomly received books from people with the message “Thank you for the scare”. My sims didn't interact with them.

@teihcaa From what I understand, your Sims are meant to scare other Sims on the lot and that:

- If your Sim(s) aren't scaring another Sim, they get bored.

- If a visiting Sim doesn't get scared by another Sim, they get bored.

From what I know, this should only be the case on lots with the Scare Challenge trait active, (as that makes the most sense).

I'll do some testing with my own save to see if my Sims would behave the same way.

I'm wondering if its caused by Sims not doing the challenge and it left the game in a state where the Sims are expecting a scare.
