Re: Unsupported Video Card?

Your old processor was better than the new one, graphic chip worse so I'm guessing the two are about the same when it comes to specs.

You are below minimum requirements on both so there's no guarantees how long and how good it will run, especially when you add patches and packs.

  • Hi ! When I access my sims 4 screen (where the play button is), I received a pop up saying my video card was not found and that it was low because high quality or something, can't quite remember. However I wasn't able to play it. My vendor ID is: 8086 and my device ID is: 22B1. However, my database is saying [Found:1, Supported: 0]. Please help me on what to do next.

@Cashmille  Your graphics card is listed in Sims 4's database, but it's specifically listed as unsupported, probably because it's rather weak.  The processor is weak for TS4 as well, judging by the various models that include this graphics chip.  This doesn't mean you can't play at all, just that the game probably won't run all that well.  Start with the base game and see how it goes.  But the demanding expansion packs (e.g. Seasons, Island Living) might be more than your laptop can handle.

Thank You! And I already added island living and city living. It was working just fine but now it won't play at all. Do I have to take off these other games in order to play? or what can I do now to progress forward into playing ?

@Cashmille  I would start by testing with Island Living disabled, to see if the base game plus City Living works.  If not, disable CL too.  Here's how:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2017/03/disable-single-packs/

Be sure to test with a clean game folder, as in, move the Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  That way, any files related to the missing pack(s) won't interfere.

If the game runs with one or both packs out of the way, you can keep playing like that; if and when you get a new computer in the future, you can redownload the packs for free.  Or you can try to get a refund from EA customer support.  Normally packs aren't eligible for refunds, but exceptions are sometimes made when a computer cannot run the content at all.
