@Jaelk I tested with vlad and managed to get 4 points after grandmaster.

Ok since no-one else reported this I assumed it must have been me so I uninstalled, re-installed, patched and threw in a repair for good measure.
The best thing I learned was that I am seriously impaired at getting Vampire XP. My Vlad also had no trouble. No CC, fresh install, existing PC, working as expected.
