He still had the three credits towards his degree after I had him start the new term after changing universities. He was even in class for one of the saves, homework completed prior to it. I just have no idea why it all disappeared between one log in and the next, nor why it could be recovered for one sim and not the other.
If reinstalling saves isn't a solution, what would you suggest? Since I have no idea what caused it, I can't be sure it won't happen again.
- @lmcgigglebosca When you still have a save form before the moment you have had your sim changing universities, i would suggest to try that one.
You just need to check if the save you are about to reinstall or play is also the file from before you changed universities.
In that case i would make a backup of the ten most recent files the folder: 'Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves' and store these files in a folder on your desktop to be able to replace them in case anything goes wrong.
Then in de Sims main menu choose the eldest save to play.
The problem with this option is that that file save will become the new one once you save your game. So when you make a mistake you can replace the saves in the folder with the backup files. - lmcgigglebosca6 years agoRising Novice@Trismagistos I tried loading the eldest one of this set in, and it is one from before the previous term ended - and before Boy Sim changed schools. Girl Sim's university information is there and accurate, but his is still completely gone. Even though he's standing in his school's soccer uniform from practice.
I copied my entire saves folder and pasted a copy into my backup saves folder before I did any meddling with them.
I mean, I suppose I'm only losing three credits worth of progress, since Boy Sim had only done one term, but I am just at a loss as to the cause, and why only he's been this affected. - @lmcgigglebosca It leaves me puzzled too. But as i play this game for almost 10 years now it sometimes still does. I will grant you a me too so EA might hopefully look into it. There is nothing else to do than take this loss of progress and try again. Good luck.
