Re: Save file stuck endlessly loading after 10.22 update

@sleepynsnacky  Thanks for the dxdiag, which crashed while running.  This could be a random glitch, but regardless, please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

  • Hit Windows key-X
  • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
  • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
  • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
  • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
  • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
  • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
  • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

For the Sims 4 issue, does it help to remove your Mods folder?  Please try it if you haven't already and if there's anything inside the folder aside from Resource.cfg.

If that doesn't help, please open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you have.  Try again to load the save and see whether you get a new LE.  If you do, please attach it to a reply here.  You'll need to delete the first line of the LE in order for it to upload properly.

    Removing the mod file does not make any difference. The save file will open into the manage world screen but when I hit play, it gets stuck on the loading screen. I removed all the old lastexception files and did not get a new one when trying to load the save. I attached a screenshot of the message I received after running the scannow. Should I try to do another dxdiag to attach? Thank you!

    @puzzlezaddict I thought I replied to your recomendations, but I think it replied to my op instead, my bad. I did what you suggested and attached a screenshot of the message I got after running scannow

    @puzzlezaddict sorry for a billion replies but while I was looking to organize my mods folder, I found a separate sims folder buried somewhere. It shows that there Was an LE from when I tried opening the save today. Should I just copy paste that line of code that shows when opening the LE file? (minus the first line)

    @sleepynsnacky  Sure, you can copy and paste the text of the LE into a reply; please use a spoiler tag in that case.  Deleting the first line is only required if you attach the LE as a text file, and you can only attach the file if you use Reply, not Quick Reply.

    Don't worry about which post you reply to.  I'll see your reply regardless.

     This is the last LE that occurred when I tried to open the save yesterday.

    So I had found that other sims file buried. I removed the mod folder from that one and did all of the same things you recommended. The message after running the scannow was the same. It's no longer stuck on the loading screen when trying to play that file but it does throw up an error code.

    It says, "The game failed to load. Error code:110:8a46f99f:7abd1733. It is recommended that you relaunch the game." It gives the same message every time.
