Re: Recommendations for Cheap Gaming Laptops
@Elitorkester Sorry for the late reply; I've had a busy few days and am only now catching up.
Something like this would work well for Sims 4, running all current packs together on ultra graphics settings with room to spare:
These two are even faster, but not as highly rated. They're still good options overall though, just somewhat noisy.

This is definitely overkill for Sims 4 but might help other games run better, for example Hogwarts Legacy and Baldur's Gate 3 would benefit from the extra power. It also has twice the storage, so you could fit a lot more games on it at the same time.
This is even faster, and a very high quality laptop, but its screen is only 14". I don't know whether that matters to you, and the screen itself should look amazing.
If you want to talk more about specs in general, or about these in particular, please let me know what questions you have and what details matter to you.
As for used laptops, the U.S. market isn't great, with the only trustworthy options (e.g. Best Buy refurbished) being almost as expensive as comparable new laptops. You could of course take your chances on Ebay, if you're comfortable doing that, but there's no way to eliminate the risk.
