@twitchSeriel_FPSAgreed, just curious what would be ideal queue times? I guess more so, would you be willing to wait 10+ minutes for a match in Ranked? If waiting that long meant you were matched with other players of similar rank?
At diamond what would be the lowest you want to go rank wise in terms of being paired with? Plat 1? Diamond 4? I personally think if a player can hold their rank above platinum 4, they can probably survive in Diamond. Plat 4 seems to be the divider between who can make Diamond+ and who can't.
@apostolateofDOOM your thoughts on the questions as well. @DarthValtrex As an ex OW player, I can assure you 10+ minute queues would not be ideal lol. It got to the point where I'd play maybe 3 matches before I turned the game off out of boredom. People would do the same here regardless of whether they got better teammates as a result.
3 minutes would probably be ideal but you'd still get mixed pools of ranks.
The rank population at the top end is more of an issue than folk realize I think.
@DarthValtrex In an ideal world i would like those of equal rank but if the population doesn't allow it then prioritise those that are climbing plat (plat 2+) after say 5 mins before letting those that camped through gold and hard stuck in plat enter my lobbies. They honestly might as well not be on the team.
I also think they should remove this climb from w/e 3+ to prevent those stuck in a rank as it doesn't force you to improve like it previously did.
@MandatoryIDtag I think 3-5 mins would be fine but i'm used to waiting longer from D4 up in previous series anyway. 10 mins max then throw whoever in if they must but from second to last tier is only those either dedicated to rank or reasonably skilled that make it that far and at its most stressful to climb further while ranks below can be climbed solo by good players. This might differ from PC too though as i can just tab out and wait for the icon to start flashing while amusing myself with something else.

@apostolateofDOOMYou have to keep in mind that at the top end, Predators there are only 500 of them. That means in order to fill a lobby with nothing but predators it requires 12% to be on at the same time and playing ranked at the same time. That's just to fill a single lobby... Now if they get knocked in the first round they could easily be sitting around for 20 minutes waiting on that match to finish.
It's fairly small population of players eve in Diamond-Predator you're talking 2.71% of the player population will achieve Diamond or higher. So even if they limit it to diamond-Predator you're going to have some long queue times.
And you want to talk about seeing people go AFK. Longer queue times mean they are more likely to walk away for a minute or two. @DarthValtrex I don't know what the number of players are who played ranked for the 2.71% but i would argue they're the most active to keep grinding and least likely to go AFK being invested at that point. It's something i have only had a couple of times but if that changed then my opinion probably would too. Combining all diamond, master and pred should be able to get you a match within 10 mins though.
People on my friends list who were all climbing through diamond last split in Germany were in different games when matching at the same time getting put with plats or even golds and all agreed we would prefer to wait a bit longer to have same rank on our team. I would rather take the chance on more distant servers (with a cap) with equivalent team mates than try will golds.
That's the current rank system with preds being top 500 and with a job + kids is practically impossible to maintain so either way it's not something i'll even bother to try in the current format.
@MandatoryIDtag I agree 10 mins is a bit extreme and worse case scenario but hopefully with some code and crossplay they can cut that in half while improving the current situation.
@apostolateofDOOM Crossplay will create a bit of a juxtaposition for ranked I think.
Although it will triple the pool of players for ranked, it will create a big contrast in the sense that there will be some improvement for top tier ranked play in terms of MM. Whereas the lower end will be a complete quagmire of facepalmery and trash teammates. XD
Will be interesting to see if it makes overall progression from bronze to predator easier or harder overall.
@MandatoryIDtag So lower end will basically be the same. XD
@apostolateofDOOM well yeah rofl...but with a 66.6% increase in trash players, ergo making finding a good random even harder as there are considerably more potatoes than there are good players. x.x

@apostolateofDOOMCorssplay amongst console with ranked I think would be fine and really cut down the queue times for higher skill lobbies. Especially if it's a combination of Diamond, master, Pred. It would also help prevent some of the teaming that has happened.
@MandatoryIDtagI think it will make it easier to push to Platinum. But platinum will still be the big divide. You'll have a group of people who just get stuck at Platinum 4. Unless they change the point system, you'll still have loads of campers making it to Gold/Platinum. Platinum is really the rank at which you have to get kills to maintain a positive RP balance. You really need to hit the maximum points from kills most rounds. If you don't you won't be getting enough RP to make up for the bad drop rounds or rounds you get eliminated early for different reasons. Camping to top 3 just won't give you the positive RP you need to cover the losses.
I also think it will push some of the people who are on the lower end of the Predator ranks out of Predator. Take the top 50% of Predators from Xbox and PS4, those will be the Predators once crossplay is released. The bottom 50% won't make the cut because the top 50% from each platform will push them out.
i would imagine diamond and Master will become harder as well. - @DarthValtrex I specifically call out Plat4s because normally anything above plat4s can sort of keep up, because as you mention, they can probably make it to diamond if they grind enough. I would much rather take plat3s, The skill difference is typically very noticeable.
