@Vdstrk If you don't want frustration there's no fill option made just for this case. Anyone who starts a pub with teammates and plans to do everything on his own right from the start (leaving as soon as he's knocked) deserves a penalty. It doesn't have to be a time penalty but something is necessary to stop this plague.

@Cro_Pittt
Nope. It does not. No fill is if you wanna play solo. I like playing with a team that behaves as a team.
If a player in my team acts randomly, or, say, that player picks my banner up and trolls with respawning, or trolls with rezzing, toxicity, ineptitude, etc, I have the right to leave.Leaving is also a way to balance the poor job MM does in PUBS.
Having leaver penalty in PUBS is...laughable.Similarly, if you dislike leavers, play ranked.

If you don't want me to leave the game then stop insta dying, stop playing like a *, stop annoying me, stop landing somewhere dumb, stop spam pinging enemies before anyone has even dropped, etc..

@CCbathwater
One of the reasons I avoid ranked is that I may be locked in with players who are very toxic and bad, and have to stay "or else".
Yes you can mute them. Yes you can report them.
Then we are left with arguing if the game is a team based game or not anymore --given no comms in particular if you mute both the players and their pings.
I have left some games despite having the best loadout ever, in Pubs, because 8 minutes in, they were still looting. I was literally crouched in a spot waiting for the team.....
Or because I was the worse on the team... my team mates were both level 500 and skilled. Clearly it was not my lobby. It was more the time I was there licking the floor then the "help" I would have provided. It was actually me dragging the team down by dying constantly, and clearly they were better off without me. It wasn't fun for me nor them, better move on. - @Cro_Pittt I am torn on this now. I don't like people who quit as soon as they are downed for no reason at all, but also don't want to be stuck with bad players.
You know in Hydroponics there's a underground section that has lots of loot? Everytime I ping there as jumpmaster, my teammates always break off and land on the top buildings and die, or I die to a different squad. Or I die retrieving their banner. It's mind boggling how some people don't understand simplest concept of teamplay called 'stick with your team'. @Vdstrk You said that it's ok to leave if your teammates have different playstyle. I don't see any team play there. Both of you have to adapt to eachother. Of course for every single thing there are exceptions, like you mentioned people trolling or being afk, it's ok to leave in those and other extreme cases . But you do realize that like 80% of trios become duos-solos because when someone gets knocked they leave immediately right? Not even giving a chance to the team to help them. That's solo playing. Leaving immediately because hey who cares, if i win the fight i'm ImperialHal if not my teammates are bad.
Don't get me wrong, i also leave sometimes when i should not to, but i'll gladly accept a penalty because i know it's a bad thing to do. And i'm not asking for a severe penalty. I don't think a 0 xp gained or no challenge progression after leaving is going to affect you badly. It would be a little thing but at least it'd punish some dumb players that act like they are ImperialHal or Rogue.
@BaldWraithSimp Is that a hot dropping zone? Didn't know that lol.
Anyway i'm sticking with my idea. You'll always get some bad teammates, not denying that, but you know most of players leave soon as they get knocked. It happens to me at least 7-8 games out of 10. It's unbelievable and honestly i'm getting tired of it, i just can't have fun on pubs because i'm doing 1v3 most of the times.
- @Vdstrk I understand leaving when your teammates are trolling you with rez and Respawn, but now you are saying you leave when you have better teammates than you? Lmao.
We all have games where we do poorly, we keep getting knocked and feel sorry for the team. But a three man team will always be better than a two man team. Take the hard lobby as a challenge, try your best. - E9ine_AC5 years agoHero+@Vdstrk Leaving a team unless a actual cause for it of not popping a respawn or not recovering banner is just not moral. What bothers me the most is people who think they are better or think they are not as good as their teammates.
We all was in that same boat at one time. It has its ups and downs. Only way to get better is to adapt to all play styles. If this is not done then users will just stay in the same rutt they are stuck in. - @CCbathwater sounds like someone needs to look for a premade squad.

*******Big premise, I'm only talking about pubs*******
Were MM better at matching players then it would be a whole different issue.
Since MM prioritizes speed over match, it often happens that team play is non existent.
I cannot carry my team mates, match after match for hours, because MM places me with 2 lvl 20, continuously, who have a collective of 6 hours in the game. Nor should players be expected to do penance, because MM offers you a bad deal in order to prioritize speed over quality. Mind you, I'm fine with speed MM as long as I can leave a bad match.
I'm fine with stretching a bit too. But when the stretch is too large, I break. Everyone has a breaking point, even pros, and I am not even remotely close to what you would call a pro. LOLOLOLOLOL
There are players that I am unable, not unwilling, and I mean it literally unable to carry for whatever reason. In those instances I cherish the "right to leave".
It is a thing to make a mistake, even multiple times and learn from it, it is another to know that you are making a mistake and be forced into it.
Sure I could just stay back and let them die, but then what would the difference be?
You do not know for sure why players leave. An emergency? Because there is no comms? Because there is too much comm? Noise? There are a thousand reasons why.
For me personally, the reason for leaving are strictly related to playstyle. If they are too passive and do not take fights at all, or shoot only from a mile away with an SMG, I'm outta there. Sorry, but that type of playstyle tells me they will not do much to help, other than just shooting randomly in the direction enemies are.
If they drop hot along with other 7 teams, have no voice comm, do not answer questions about their stats, again, I'm sorry I'll leave.
No, I do not know what percentage of trios become duos --I have not seen any official stats for it. In my experience people leave when they do not believe the team has a chance of making it once the leaver himself is reduced to a box. Not knocked only, but boxed up. And most of the times they are correct, virtually always.
I would completely remove stats for pubs only. I mean what do we need stats for in pubs other than MM? Pubs stats should be hidden, and for MM use only.
If you want your stats visible, then earn them in Ranked. Just my opinion. - Vdstrk5 years agoSeasoned Ace@E9ine_AC
IMO the way to get better is to become a specialist in one playstyle, and with one character. I do not see what getting better has to do with leaving a bad match. - CCbathwater5 years agoSeasoned Ace@Daze623 No thank you.

@Cro_Pittt
" i'm getting tired of it, i just can't have fun on pubs because i'm doing 1v3 most of the times."
You would have to do 1v3 even if they were to stay. They insta died the first time around, and they will insta die again next fight. So you would be locked in 1v3 again.
that is MM's Fault IMO.
Think from their perspective. They are level 20s tossed in a lobby that is way above their skill at that moment (or forever for what it matters). They are confined to be paper weight in the form of a box/casket., - @E9ine_AC I had one Pathfinder today who had his lvl 500 badge equipped, who said 'So 2v3 then?' and left while we were in dropship. The 2nd teammate was lvl 60, I was wearing a rare bad skin with super noob badges(on purpose) and he just left. Maybe he thought we both looked like noobs, idk it was funny and shocking at the same time lol.
- @BaldWraithSimp Ive found some people put way to much stock in badges and numbers.
- Vdstrk5 years agoSeasoned Ace@BaldWraithSimp
Sure. What would there be in it for me from being carried?
It is a drag for them, and it is a hurdle for me to endure until the end of the match, eventually elimination.
And for my more skilled team mates, what is in there for them? Frustration for having to carry a person who cannot cope with the skill level of the lobby. @Vdstrk I said before that i do not blame people for leaving in some extreme cases. And no there's no official stats, but seeing my experience, streamers on twitch, and hearing out some friends i can say that it's a common issue.
You said you can't carry newbies. Fair enough, but doing this you'll never give the chance to them to actually improve in the game. How do they feel when they see the third more experienced guy leave just because they are noobs? It's not even their fault, they need time to improve. I actually like playing with newbies and being the IGL with them because usually they listen to the more experienced players. They are not the issue. I'll not blame them simply because they can't shoot, what do you expect lol. If most of the people think like you, then noobs will remain forever noobs because they can't rely on a ingame guide.

@Cro_Pittt
Good point. How do they feel? I do not know. I wish they had comms to begin with, I would have at least heard what they were thinking. That would change the situation from leaving with no hope, to, "they are trying their best, let's see if they can make it"?
Comms are their prerogative. But I cannot jump to conclusions on how they feel based on the absence of any hint about it.Eh. I cannot say for sure what would they end up being, if they will or not learn the game. There are several resources. Unless I'm specifically asked to share what I do/know, I keep it to myself. And then again, what guarantees are there to say that what I do in game is what is correct?
I'm sorry, but I am not good enough to carry 2 players to victory, how am I expected to be the one teaching them?
- @Vdstrk To learn from them? Be better at the game? For them, you are a bullet sponge 😉. Besides it feels good when you carry someone to win.
Every fight you lose is a lesson, to analyze what you did wrong. Maybe you overpeeked, you whiffed your shots, bad positioning, pushed too hard etc etc. If you get knocked three times, tell yourself that 'no more knocks', play a lil less aggressive and let the better players take the lead. Just try mate, even if you fail.
If the opponents are just better, it still forces you to use all of your skills to counter them whereas you won't have to try as much versus someone weaker. @Vdstrk Uh they are newbies right? They still don't know that comms are crucial in Apex. You can also teach that, and use the ping system which is quite useful in the game (fortunately). But seeing this conversation we both will not change our opinion so fair enough, we agree to disagree.🙂
- Vdstrk5 years agoSeasoned Ace@BaldWraithSimp
LOL. Meat shield, come here.. Unfortunately what happens in those instances, is that the better player(s) will leave with resentment, and some sort of ---"you s#$k" accusation to make the situation even more clear. LOL
I can learn from situation where it is CLEAR that I messed up, not from situations way above my skills. Because to me being erased in a second sounds like an aimbot, not a positioning mistake.
Whereas, a situation more manageable will have more margin of error. Leaving room for analysis. - Vdstrk5 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Cro_Pittt
Agree. One game, 2 games, ... .n games. Then enough is enough.By any means not accusing you of anything. Sorry if you feel that way.
I strongly believe in giving it a try. However, after a bit, you kinda start seeing a pattern.
Like, hot dropping among 7 teams... Try comms, nothing, try pinging another spot, nothing. Press E and drop elsewhere near by, no one follows.
Team mates are insta killed. Out of guilt I go to get their banner and I'm insta killed.
How many times do I need to see this situation happening before it is clear that 90% of the times this happens TO ME, it ends up in frustration? 90% is confidence enough for me to take a chance and leave.
ME SPECIFICALLY. I look around while dropping and tell to what looks like no one that there are n team around. If it is only one or 2 I take my chances, if are like 4 or more, I leave if they do not change where they drop.
- @Cro_Pittt No Man. Its Respawns fault for their matchmaking system. They should put those noobs against people their skill lvl not with a lvl 500 expecting to babysit match after match, im tired of lvl 20 teammates, i want to have fun and be actually a bit competitive in some matches at least im not wasting my gaming time to get forever killed in first fights cause bot teammates
Simple answer: fear of losing money.
cheaters don’t buy things and drive people out of games and aren’t as big a percentage of the players. Leavers is likely a huge number of people and some of them do buy quite a lot I imagine.
nothing but my own supposition to back this but I think it’s pretty obvious that after 2 years Apex supports and encourages people to leave any game they want including in ranked.
My advice is instead of hating it, even if it’s terrible sportsmanship, get into it. Leave often. Leave just to leave. Leave when there’s no good reason to.
Maybe if it gets to be a big enough problem Respawn will at least stop giving prizes and rewards to leavers. Or maybe not. Either way, leave, leave and leave again.
