No, our external IP is the same, ie the IP computers on the internet see us on is the same. Our local IPs on our local network are different.

Ah I know what this is.
Log into your router dude. The details are normally on the side of it and you just type "192.168.0.1" into your browser and it should load it up if that is your gateway.
Once in your router after you've got the details, look for a section called "UPNP" go in there and turn it off.
Once it is turned off, press apply/ save (Whatever the option. Give it a few seconds and try again.
If not, then reboot your modem. Once it has rebooted, log back in and see if UPNP has been turned off.
It must be turned off in order for 2 computers in one house to work.
I know this works becuase my partner and I had the same issue and I fixed it.
XP me and thanks :D

I've seen the UPNP suggestion from some BF3 posts, and I've tried it.
Actually, UPNP was already disabled on my router. Further, we've tried disablingthe Windows 7 UPNP service, which also didn't work. I've also tried fully enabling UPNP on the router and in Windows, and it doesn't work.
So either way, UPNP on, off, etc, didn't make a difference and we were still not able to join.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
have you tried putting one on the DMZ?

Okay.
Now you've turned off UPNP in your router, the next step is...
Turn off PC UPnP Service:
1. Press: Windows-button (the one between lAlt and lCtrl) + R, a window should pop up.
2. Write: "services.msc" (without the ") then press enter.
3. In the list of services, scroll down to "UPnP Device Host", click it and press "Stop service".
4. Now do the same thing but with the service "SSDP Discovery".
5. Exit the window and go to control panel-> Network and Internet-> Network and Sharing Centre-> Change advanced sharing settings (to the left)-> Under "network discovery" select to turn off network discovery
6. SAVE CHANGE(I cannot remember if I done this on both computers... But I know I done it. Try on one computer. If it works then great, if it does not then do it on both computers)
There is also a registry edit that you can try. That is simple and easy.
Here is a point towards it: http://www.battlefield4online.com/play-battlefield-3-two-more-pcs-same-network/3173/
Enjoy
- Anonymous12 years agoGot the same problem here, we are 4 guys at a LAN all eager to play bf4 together but for some odd reason we are unable to get more than 2 people on a server , the third and fourth are unable to connect no matter who it is ive tried port forwarding from similar problems in bf3, uPnP disabled, services disabled, registry fix, nothing seems to work

Check your router to make sure how many people can be on it at one time.I set mine to the number of devices in the house that used a internet connection. Say it is set to 6 users at one time max and you have 1 laptop, 1 cell phone and 2 dvd players running that would only leave access for 2 more users. Most devices have auto update turned on so when you power them up they maintain a internet connection. The other thing is that I assigned a perminant IP to all devices on my router so that I had no more conflict issues and prior I did have them.
That is not posible!
