Battlefield 4 servers on PS3

I am really sad and disappointed that EA is shutting down BF4 servers on a game that I paid a lot of money for. We go out of our way to buy games with our hard-earned money, and now I will basically have half a game? This will not force anyone to buy the new BF game because new gen consoles are expensive in some parts of the world. I can't say I am disappointed in EA, but I expected DICE to at least jump in here because there is a large player base on BF4 on the older gen consoles. 

This is painful because BF4 is my favorite game! I can't afford a PS4 or PS5. This hurts more than a heartbreak! I am tempted to say that I hate EA for what they're doing to us "poor" folks.
