Re: Sony WH-1000XM4 no audio

Thank you man, but I already found a video online that helped me fix it. Basically recommended to go through control panel, hardware and sound, devices and printers, then properties on the headphones, services, then disable the hands free audio. same as you suggested, but this will be permanent until manually changed. Thanks again.

@DrOnline82 Good to hear it is working for you. 🙂
However, from experience with my headphones you should not disable the hands free audio, when you are using them and the integrated microphone with other applications. The microphone sometimes only works, when you have the hands free audio selected as your output device.

@DrOnline82I was actually looking into buying Sony WH-1000XM4. Does that mean you can’t use the mic on the headset to talk in-game?

I have the same issue with the AirPods Pro. If I don’t disable the hands free audio I can only hear the menu music but not in-game audio. If I disable it I can hear in-game audio but then I can’t talk in-game with the AirPods Pro.

  • @ThePro_PR I'm sure you can, but not with my "solution". My fix is kinda brutal :D Because I'm an old geezer I don't feel like using voice chat anyway. I'm 100% sure there's a solution to let you use the mic in-game. But you'll have to look for it, because I don't know it.
