Fortunately, the Battlefield 1 (r/battlefield_one) subreddit returned yesterday.
The duration of the shutdown was perhaps three days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday):
@HUN_gattaca_lg A lot of subs (4000ish I believe) have gone dark in protest about Reddit changes which will effectively end third party apps and other things. I think they're doing it tomorrow as well.

The Battlefield 1 subreddit (r/battlefield_one) has been down for three days now.
But the Battlefield 4 subreddit (r/battlefield_4 with 154K members) seems like a strikebreaker.
@HUN_gattaca_lg Yeah, the Battlefield 2042 is still dark too (the LowSodium one is up though), so they must have joined the subs extending the strike as well.
