The PS4 Definitive Edition isn't required to play on PS5.

That's strange - I was able to transfer my PS4 version of BFV from my external drive quite easily; have you tried restoring licenses and making sure your system software is up to date?

    System software is up to date. How do I go about restoring licenses? I haven't tried transferring the game via an external HDD from my PS4 to PS5, but I guess I could give that a go. Was just hoping to easily download it from the PlayStation store.

    Weird it wouldn't list the game to allow transfer from USB SSD to PS5 internal SSD. But it did give option to delete from it in storage settings. Every other PS4 transferred fine.

    I've had to download BF5 from PS store. 100GB ☹️
