Re: Can't play solo games in Battlefield 2042

Hey @WidgeMan5,

Did you have this error before the server issues from last night as well?

  • I have been having these issues since early December. I put down the game for a while hope it that it would go away but it hasn’t. I tried reinstalling the game last night and that hasn’t helped at all.

    @WidgeMan5, oh that is indeed odd.

    Are you playing via a Portal config match, or actual Solo/Co-op mode?

    @WidgeMan5, cheers.

    With the release of Update 3.2, which was released today (31 Jan. 2023, 9 am UTC), are you still experiencing this issue or do you notice any improvements?

    @WidgeMan5Same issue here. I even have a new machine w/ fresh OS install and have this problem. Can't play the game at all, and can't refund it as sitting an queues and testing put me over steams refund policy. Still can play BF4, but I wanted to play the new update with no luck. Tried port forwarding, updating gfx drivers, Windows updates, removing all un-needed software, removing AV software, repairing the install. Just finds game, goes to load, shows stand-by, then back to lobby. I did load a game once, and it just loaded me in by myself. Cool, a 128 player game lobby with just me.

  • It's not as bad as it was before. I can now join regular multiplayer games but can only play one round, then after that, I get a queue error half the time when I try and join another round. For solo games, it works 60% of the time now which is definitely an improvement.

    @WidgeMan5Found the issue. I was going through everything and the only common setting I have had between old PC and new PC, as of launch, was my game profile. I seen someone noting to try cross platform settings. I have had mine off, but the moment I turned it on, I have been able to consistently get in games. I am assuming its trying to match me with a mixed mode session, sees my preference, and boots my to the lobby. All of the troubleshooting I did prior, and it turns out to be flawed join system.

  • I have my cross platform setting on and have tried it both ways, but most of the issue is in solo games anyway. The game starts fine but it just bugs out after 30s to 5 mins then I get kicked to lobby.

    @WidgeMan5, gotcha. I wonder, are you maybe able to capture & share a video of this 'event', when this happens to you in a Solo/Co-op game mode?
  • As of today I haven’t encountered the problem yet. I think it’s fixed as I played quite a few games today and I had no issues. I changed my dns yesterday so I think either the servers fixed themselves or that did something.
