Re: Why (almost) No One Uses Squad Commands?

So this is a multi pronged issue.
#1 there is no real notification that you are the squad leader, there are no reminders that you need to be marking objectives for your squad. The scoreboard is terrible, no way to change squads if their play style “aka all snipers” doesn’t work with yours, no way to vote and replace squad leader.no way to pass squad leadership if you aren’t interested in doing it.

#2 no VOIP, total fail. This is one of the best features of any multiplayer games and helps tremendously to be able to talk instead of type into chat.
#3 the existing commo rose is horrible. It is too busy, hard to read and not intuitive. If we can’t get VOIP it would make more sense to split squad commands onto another comms rose.

So I don’t think people just don’t like doing squad leader duties but the game sure doesn’t guide or give them effective ways to figure it out. I had heard some of the “legacy” features listed above were not in led on purpose to “reduce toxicity”. I swear we have non-gamers making decisions about games.

  • There's also no incentive to give squad commands. To my knowledge there is no 'order followed' bonus for the leader nor squad mates.

Honestly Dice Sweden has watered down the significance of squads and squad play so much that they could easily remove them and the game would largely be the same. All they are now are a couple of free spawn points.

I'm not saying playing as a squad isn't effective. It is but it isn't being facilitated by the game. There is no machinations in the game to support, incentivise or force squad play to the point where folks running third party communication programs with their buddies have a significantly larger advantage than they should if the game did a better job at providing for squad based gameplay.

    This is the answer.

There is just no incentive to play as a squad and no indication that squad actions are being completed.

The squad system is pointless as it is currently implemented.

Really? Thanks for the answer. I did not know there is no bonus exp for completing squad commands. My bad then ^^. Removed from the list.

  • @firzen_one Get no extra XP like past BF's and nobody gives a flying ****. This game is designed to be the ultimate anti-community based FPS.

@-NME-M0710NM4N Exactly. Except, Dice and EA pretend like its the opposite. Like they gave us SO much and their 'love letter to fans'. Its all just bs...
  • Easy: Because you get nothing from squad orders and they are not working properly, as you have to use that really bad commorose in 9/10 times, because double tapping doesnt work.

  • @TickTack121I almost fell out of my chair laughing (maybe even a little crying) at how pathetic the commorose is. I had been playing for over 100 hrs before even noticing there is a second page to it. Seriously with all joking aside... who was low IQ'er who even thought that was a good idea? As if during such chaos that can be going on within any given match, you have time to sit there flipping through pages like your reading a book. LMAO.

Yep, that thing is completely useless and way to slow / complicated. Also just not working right.

@-NME-M0710NM4NThe weirdest thing about BF2042 is just how many stupid decisions EA/Dice has made.

Everything has to be 'redesigned' and most of the changes are just making things worse or the game not fun to play.

You can change squads, you just have absolutely 0 clue which one the game will through you into. After enough change squads, you finally get tossed into your own squad. When you go to change squads again, you'll either be placed in your original squad or back in your own solo squad.

Point acquisition is so low there is no point to really narrow your focus on objectives, especially with so many extra players out there with itchy trigger fingers. I hate capping a ppint only to die at the very last second or spam the deploy on squad button to be met with an "in combat, you gotta wait" message for 0 credit.

Everyone is just a lone wolf in games these days, they don't care about PTFO. I get it, I love just doing my own thing too but people who work together usually live longer and earn more points
