Check in the game controls if you have a button assigned under aiming and if you have the zoom mode set as on/off or , "hold".

At the bottom I throw screen [look spoiler] from the menu (unfortunately in Polish, because I have the Polish version of the game, but the items in the menu are the same, also by analogy after the screen you will find where the option is)

    I didn't exactly word this correctly, I can aim down sight using my right mouse button but I can't look left to right or up & down. It randomly happened about 2 days ago and hasn't worked since. My mouse works fine on other first person shooters, just not battlefield anymore.
