Re: Battlefield 2042: Season 6 - Сrackling sound

Common issue with S6. We think EA Anti Cheat is breaking the ASIO drivers. Most of us are using Focusrite Scarletts, but there has been a couple reports from others too.

The "workaround" right now is to raise your buffer size to 1024, which is not ideal as it adds a ton of latency to things running through your interface, but otherwise allows you to play fine until they can fix this bug.

I haven't fully tested a 512 buffer yet, but so far just getting to the menus has worked fine... will test more later.

Hope it will be fixed soon.

Update to this: I went to 256 buffer size tonight and played for about 2-3 hours with no audio issues from either ingoing or outgoing audio.

So it looks like at least Focusrite Scarletts (or at least my 18i8 Gen 2) set to 256 buffer works for now. I will continue testing lower buffer until the problem happens and report which ones work for me and don't. Next time I can play I'll test 192, the next buffer lower, and see how that works and report back.

How do i change the buffer size i have the same issue and i use voicemeeter?
Like what sample do i have to change there a few more categories to chose.

  • If you have the last focusrite driver, search for Focusrite Device Setting in the program folder.

Then you can put 44100 or 48000 in your sample rate (its mostly the same, 44100 is the default sample rate) and dont go lower than 256 in the bufffersize.

If you use a buffersize 512 with a mic plug on your interface you will start to have too much latency, it will not sound good.

Try 256 it should be good until they patch this problem.

There is an other thread here also, with lot more reply :

To add to the above: I am running my focusrite at 48,000 sample rate which has worked fine, and have not done extensive testing with it yet but have ran the game while my scarlett is at 192 buffer size and it wasn't immediately buggy yet... Now to clarify, I have only tested a few minutes at this buffer size. I just haven't had time to test further yet, but I will be. If 192 works fine for a couple hours, I will continue testing down to 160 as well.

The next lower buffer under 160 is my old default 128 which has this buggy audio...so if by a miracle 160 also works, I will be quite happy.... but we shall see.
