@c_1004fHave you noticed the BF3 version of the spawn beacon stays even if you die, and you can spawn on your own beacon without it blowing up? Can’t do that that with the 2042 beacon. Here’s my guess for the drone though. You’re behind enemy lines with the drone up. You die. You respawn but really far away, and your drone is out of range. You’d like to use it, but you can’t get close enough to get it. Now it’s stuck and you have no drone. They could add a mechanic that if you have a drone up and redeploy a new one, the old one blows up. That would make sense.
