Dynasty Broken

3 years, including a 1 year delay to make this game.. and this is the product?

I will say, I gave up my anger a while ago. I realized EA responds to what they want.. listens to what they want. I mean I’m sure a lot of us have seen the leak about CFB 26, and no where on there did it mention TeamBuilder for offline dynasty, even though THEY KNOW we’ve been asking. Hey maybe it still happens… but save this post, it won’t.

Anyway, the point of this post is dynasty is so lazily made it’s immersion breaking. I make the CFB playoffs. XII Champions with a 12-1 record. Yet I’m 5th seed in the CFP, playing against CMU who went 9-4 AND WAS NOT EVEN RANKED IN THE TOP 25 to end the season.

19 Boise State is positioned higher than me and a first round bye at 10-3.
13 Texas Tech is ranked 3rd with first round bye at 9-4.
And don’t even get me started on teams with records of 11-2 or better who were left out of the playoffs completely.

I hate to be so negative .. but your product is trash EA. You did some things just well enough because you knew everyone was so hyped for this game, myself included. But the honeymoon is over, long over. Most of us see this game now for what it is. And we also see your willingness to “listen and engage with the community”.

I'm not going to go so far as to say their product is trash. But I will say it's crazy how little dynasty mode was tested before it was released (I'm 95% sure it actually wasn't tested at all based on all the common issues everyone runs into that would have easily been spotted by testing) and crazier that we're two months in and the scheduling bug has not been fixed. Scheduling is a huge part of an online dynasty and it's still either impossible or extremely time consuming and frustrating because of the glitch that has gone unfixed. I haven't even seen it addressed or commented on by EA. No idea if they're even looking at it.

You are right on the playoff. I had a user in mine where they were Maryland and they went to the Big 10 championship vs Ohio State. They were I think 10-2 and they beat Ohio State to win the Big 10 tourney. The CFB playoff put Ohio State in and also added Penn State and left Maryland out as the conference champion. I mean really? In another, I beat Georgia 84-21 in Athens. Later in the year when I was undefeated still, Georgia leap frogged me in the rankings. Then I've won 3 national championships in 4 years and I'm still getting coordinator offers or G5 head coaching offers. How is that realistic?

Like I said, there's so many things that would have been easily spotted and could have been addressed prior to release if tested properly, but as is always the frustration with EA, it seems they avoided the non-micropay mode as much as they could. They marketed as a bunch of fans hopping on board to make the game they can be proud of but I can't imagine the current state of dynasty mode is something to be proud about. What's more is these have all been reported for months and I don't see really any improvement still.

This game has a number of issues, so many so that a number of different people could come here and pick there own specific dynasty problem to rant about.  There's a user on here that did a ton of data compiling and brokedown why/where/how sim stats are wrong.  I mean a really detailed post and he's not the only one to do this.  Still sim stats and play counts are still off.  Pass TDs are super inflated, we still have no control over simmed game play ratios and statistical results are still determined by playbook and not even really so much about the players.  I've seen multiple sims of Ohio State's 2 90+ rated RBs do almost nothing in sim because they aren't getting the touches and because EA sports football games just hate RB2s.

That's been my constant rant about EA sports football for over a decade now.  I don't remember when they chose to make playbooks drive sim results instead of giving us more control but it's been this way for a long time (The entire CFM era of Madden has been a debacle and theres no changing my mind on this).  So that brings me to another issue the game has, roster construction. I just finished the offseason of my second season in one dynasty.  I was scrolling through multiple team rosters and I arrived at USC.  They had 7 QBs, 6 of whom were 78 or higher base but all were ratings adjusted to 83 and above due to coaching trees.  Now the makeup of these 6 are as follows- QB1 was a RFr and a 87.  QB2 and 3 were both transfers one a JR the other was a SR.  The next three were RFr, true Frosh and true Frosh.  Maybe I'm being silly here but it's obvious that a lot of these guys are going to transfer.

The other problem I see is with the highly arbitrary development system.  I took a look at Ohio State's roster and Jeremiah Smith who everyone is raving about and had over 120 catches, over 2000yds and 20+ TDs in 2 years was the 3rd best receiver on the team.  His production and dev traits didn't propel him to being the highest rated inexplicably.  When I see 2 and 3 year starters getting pushed out of the starting lineup because of some younger players arbitrary development from not playing at all, I get pretty frustrated.

Also for all of the people who feel like editing players is sort of like cheating, it's the only way to correct bad coding from a poor development system.  Also, we've got 1 roster update and we are 3 plus weeks into the season.  How long are we supposed to wait for roster updates for players who have taken starting positions or, that were rated too low in their base roster.

All in all dynasty mode is a mess and EA football games have missed the mark yet again.  This publisher has over 30yrs of football development history and they're still f#$^$$% up the same things (and some new things) with each new release.  How is it this game has no positive "legacy code" we keep getting the same enormous issues each year.

I agree with a lot of this and this goes back to my point that it clearly wasn't tested at all. I had an offseason where I was after three different transfer QBs. All three transferred to Ohio State over me despite me having them in for a visit and Ohio State not having them in for a visit. There is no way three starter caliber QBs would also transfer to the same school, especially over a team that just won the national championship where they would start day 1. There are also CPU teams that get players in for visits in week 16 of the season (when there are only 15 weeks) or week 6 of the offseason (when there are only 5 weeks). That's why I'm saying, there are so many very easily uncoverable issues that exist that they clearly threw it together and then went to focus on ultimate team rather than trying to make sure everything functions properly for the people who buy the game to play dynasty mode only. That is always the criticism of EA and they don't seem to listen or they pretend to listen, claim they're really focusing on it, and then do the bare minimum changes and expect people to fall for it and be satisfied suddenly.

With all that being said, I can deal with sim stats being off, it's not a game breaking bug for me. What I can't deal with is not being able to edit schedules. It's too important when you have 120+ teams in a dynasty.
