EXTREMELY disappointed in Dynasty Mode
There are simply so many issues that wrong with this new game that I find it difficult to pick a point to begin. I guess my first question would be, "Does anyone at EA Sports actually PLAY these games before you put them out there???" Within 30 minutes I found numerous SIGNIFICANT flaws in the game from a player's perspective. After over a decade of time to prepare for this game's launch, it actually seems like EA Sports has a specific team dedicated to finding ways to make sure and destroy the credibility and rationality of this game. It also seems like this committee must get paid bonuses for intentionally removing anything that had been done right in the previous versions of the game and making sure that the Dynasty Mode of the game is about anything BUT what it is designed and intended to be. The career path and success, or lack thereof, of the player (Coach) of the game.
Dynasty Mode is all about the PLAYER (ie. the coach of the team)!!! It isn't about the individual schools at all. It is about the career that the player makes for themselves as a coach. YET... the game does not keep track of ANY ongoing statistics regarding the player's coaching career???? At least in the old games you kept track of trophies and bowl wins, etc. This game doesn't even keep track of your history beyond the CURRENT contract that is active?!?! Even if you are still with the same team, it will not allow you to look back at the success or progress that you made in the years prior to the currently existing contract. THAT is a huge mistake and a major disappointment. However, it is not the biggest mistake that was made in making this game! Not even close.
THE MOST RIDICULOUS MISTAKE YOU HAVE MADE: In playing Dynasty Mode, I along with many other players, like to build a team to the top of the mountain! Recruit like crazy for 4-5 years and build a team that is virtually unbeatable! THEN... leave that team and start over with the very worst possible team in the game!!! That's right... downgrade the crap out of my job and go build a new monster from scratch. And hopefully make your way to the championship and end up having to play your old team that you have already built to unbeatable status. It is a challenge to compete when you take control over a terrible team. And THAT is what makes it fun! However, in this new game, I have absolutely NO CONTROL over any potential jobs!!! THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!! I can't even opt out of my current contract!!!! Your completely unrealistic game automatically renews my contract without my review or consent. Who's brilliant idea was this??? If nothing else, I should have the opportunity to opt out of the renewal BEFORE the end of the season so that all the other teams out there would know that I will be available to sign as a coach at the end of the season. AND I should have the ability to select ANY TEAM that I have interest in coaching for!!! But can I do any of these things???? NO!!! Your game virtually locks you into a position, and literally only gives you 4-5 other options at the end of each season... NONE of which are ever to go to one of the worst teams in the country to try to help them rebuild a terrible program. This has literally ruined the Dynasty Mode for me and for many like me. It is not fun winning all the time because your team is far superior to every other team, and the only options given to you are go to another really good team that you could turn into another unbeatable team with minimal effort and only 1 or 2 decent recruiting seasons! Ridiculous and not even close to realistic. As the coach, I should have the say so as to whether or not I stay at a job or seek another. A game about being a coach for a career in which you have virtually NO control over what jobs you do or do not take other than the very first choice you make when setting up the Dynasty! Again... who's bright idea was this????
THE SECOND MOST RIDICULOUS MISTAKE YOU HAVE MADE: Not only did you put out an extremely disappointing game after more than a decade of waiting, but you actually found something that was realistic and functioning exactly how it should function within the game, and made an update to break into my game and take it away and screw that up after the fact!!!! Your recent "update" has changed the off-season recruiting so that the newly recruited freshmen no longer appear on the "Change Positions" section. This is the most ridiculous thing I have seen from any update EVER!!! So, even though the original release of the game actually allowed you to change newly recruited player's positions (as is the case ALL THE TIME in the real world of recruiting), you intentionally took this ability away so that now I can't recruit 5 REs and move 2 of them to LE. Nor do I even get the opportunity to pick what position a newly recruited ATH will be assigned to. Now your computer program does that for me????? WTF EA??? Who is the idiot in charge of making these bonehead decisions??? All the time coaches recruit HS kids that play Safety and move them to LB. Or recruit CBs and turn them into safeties or WRs. Move Tackles to Guard or Center. It literally happens every year at EVERY team in the country. Yet in your infinite wisdom, you decided after the game was released to take this ability away from the player (coach)??? It is like you intentionally are trying to ruin the game. And one other thing on the recruiting aspect that is completely asinine... why is it when I completely scout a player to 100% I don't get to see exactly what his overall rating is going to be??? What the hell is the use of scouting the player???
There are so many other issues that I can't even begin to point them out other than to simply say that your attempts to act as though your programming is actually based on some form of logic or mathematical reasonableness is not fooling anyone. I, just like everyone else, have noticed the completely ridiculous number of times a player gets tackled on the 1 foot line, and the way the opposing team can score in 10-15 seconds without using any timeouts, etc. But lets talk about the overall garbage that is your ratings system. There is such a complete bias in your programming against the player that it should be an embarrassment to EA Sports. To prove my point, I had built my team up to an overall rating of 95. Coming off of my 7th National Title in a row with this team, I simulated the next season. The next closest team in the pre-season top 25 was one team with a 91 and three others with an 89. In a series of tests, I simulated the entire season 20 times with this team that was a minimum of 8 points higher in its overall rating than every single one of its opponents for that entire season. In 20 simulations, your computers spit out 17 seasons of .500 or WORSE!!! Including one season of 2-10???? Of the winning seasons, Two seasons were 8-5 and One season of 10-2!!! That is what a mathematician would call an extreme statistical anomaly. On top of that, I played the season myself to an undefeated record and ended up in the national championship game against a team with an overall rating of 84. So my team with a supposedly excellent rating of 95 against an average team with a rating of 84. I simulated the individual game 20 separate times, and my team won exactly ONE time!!!! If the ratings actually meant ANYTHING, then my team should have won roughly 60% of those simulations. However, it won exactly ONE TIME!!! That equates to only 5% of the time?????? Hell, even if the teams were evenly matched, one would think that the simulations would come out 50/50. But Hahahaha... not even close. Explain that EA Sports. Seems like it should be "Cheat-A" Sports!!!
If you actually care what your customers say in these posts then please address the following issues:
1) Allow coaches in Dynasty Mode some kind of way to express interest in specific jobs and let us leave when a contract expires if we choose to.
2) Put the incoming Freshmen back on the "Change Positions" action so that players can assign the ATH positions and move incoming freshman to other positions if wanted.
3) Show us the overall rating of a player once he has been scouted to 100%
4) Stop randomly blocking us from being able to "encourage transfer" to certain players. (Like when you force us to keep 4 kickers on the roster for no reason!!!) And stop being such wussies!!! Seriously??? "Encourage Transfer"??? Someone's feelings got hurt by calling it "Cut Players"????? Geez.
5) Stop removing play sheets randomly from formations during the game. Especially during home games. I get it if you are trying to make it part of your "on the road" things a player has to overcome, but doing it in home games is just ridiculous.
6) Stop removing the score line with the play clock! Again... especially in home games! But regardless, if you are going to take away the play clock, you should at least make sure that one is visible on the field that the player can refer to. I have noticed that when you do this, you remove the play clocks within the stadium also (at least in stadiums that I have been to and know where the play clocks are located).
7) GIVE US BACK the simple global substitutions choice to sub in 2nd team when a game is out of reach. Stupidest removal of a feature ever!!!
I am sure there are more items I would like to bring up, but I am simply worn out by it all at this point. Maybe I should just go back to NCAA14!
