Re: Delta Force Hawk Ops vs. Battlefield 2042

Played a bit of DF and so far I think it's really excellent for an Alpha test.  It shows some real potential, and highlights areas that, even as a so called "complete" game, 2042 falls way short.

The look and feel of the weapon customisation and weapon sounds is excellent, gadgets feel good, vehicle/infantry balance feels better with no single vehicle dominating in most of the rounds I've played.  The map design is pretty good with plenty of cover and opportunities for flanking and escape. Destruction is good, with even better on the way.  "Specialists" didn't feel as restrictive and most of those I played felt like they were making a difference to the round - particularly the medic.

I played the beta test of 2042 before it was released and it was unplayable.  Should have taken that as a hint of things to come, but by using the same mantra, DF is really showing DICE how to make a BF game, and could be a real contender if the playerbase grows wile we wait for the next BF game.  The DF devs are already working on Season 3, so seem committed to making it a success.

Just hope that EA & DICE wake up and take note....

I haven't played it. But from what I read and see it seems to be an hommage to Battlefield doing a lot of things right.
