I'll have to get my techie son over here to make changes. 😞 I'm not smart enough!
If I reinstall Origin will it delete the EA Games remastered or will it still be accessible for me to go back and try?
@mdwelker55 EA forced people across from the Origin to the EA App and then disabled Origin. I'm not sure if you can now go back to Origin at all, unless EA re-enabled it in light of all of the problems people have been having. IF EA do let you run Origin, it SHOULD make your games accessible again but there's never any guarantees with these things!
I'm not sure if you tried the -redalert fix and this thread is so long now it's perhaps a bit buried, so I've outlined the steps again below. The workaround is really simple to try so give it a go if you haven't done so already. I've also attached screenshots.
1) Click Command & Conquer Remastered Collection under the Installed Games section on the left hand side of the EA App
2) Click the MANAGE button
3) Click the View Properties button
4) Type -REDALERT in the Advanced launch options text box
5) Click the SAVE button
6) Launch game
7) OK admin prompt if it pops up and hopefully game will run
Thanks you! This worked on the first try!
Even when not using an admin account? I setup a brand new laptop. It worked flawlessly until I removed the admin rights from my normal account.
