Re: Speed in DA:I multiplayer

On multiplayer your character can sprint which will increase your movement speed by ~25%.

Non-sprinting characters obviously fall behind easily.

If you're using a controller, press the left stick to start sprinting.

If you're using a keyboard/mouse, press the key assigned to search/highlight items (in single player) - by default it's V I think.

I don't think this has anything to do with sprinting. I've literally played 3 matches now and while it seems really fun, the first match I was moving at a normal run speed then the second two matches I, and at least one other in the match, were running slow mo, though if we jumped we could move at regular speed. Combat was fine except our actualy running speed.

    Help!?

What you're describing is called rubberbanding; moving forward (on your screen) but become teleported back by small amounts so your overall movements becomes slow.

This is caused either by your connection (to the host) or the host itself.

Create your own lobby and crosscheck if you're experience this behaviour with your own game too; if not it's rubberbanding.

If you're using any DA:I-modification like the "60 FPS cutscene 'fix'", reverse it.

I can speak by experience that the mentioned "fix" is causing rubberbanding like behaviour in certain situations on multiplayer.

    [PC] Rubberbanding in Multiplayer

    • Do not alter the command line in the game's properties with any unofficial workarounds. Doing so may prevent the game from performing as it should.
    • Specifically, we have seen reports of players experiencing this after they had used the "60fps cutscene fix" that has been going around. The FPS fix doubles the simulation rate, which doubles the network traffic volume between clients. If your internet is at the limit of what it can handle, it can tip you over into seeing more rubber banding. Rubber banding is caused by insufficient available bandwidth, or a high packet loss rate, which also effectively lowers available bandwidth. Please try undoing/reverting that, as this appears to be the main cause for the rubberbanding behavior in Multiplayer.
