Re: Updated NVIDIA drivers - game won't start

1)  Update sound driver??  Yours says it is from 2010...

2)  Totally disable or uninstall your Anti-virus and see if it makes a difference.

3)  Your DiaX file didn't list any crash data at the end....did you miss some info in your printout, or is your crash data file empty?

4)  When you deleted or moved the saves folder, did you have cloud saves off??  If you didn't try that next.

    1. As said before, woked fine until the update, so I doubt that's it, actually...

    2. Didn't help :c but then again, even with it on it worked just fine before the update.

    3. I just copy-pasted everything I had. There was no need to deete or forget anything.

    4. I did.

Update: so, I've restored the system to the point of about one or two weeks ago, reinstalled DA:I and tried it out. It started working.

However, after I've restarted my computer, the same crash began appearing, even if I didn't make any updates and actually disabled every automatic updates on my PC. Here's a new hastebin, with system restored to hell knows how much.

Another question is, can any other game influence this? I know there's practically no chance of it happening, like one to a billion, but I was playing with animations and scripts in another game (TES:V) and broke it really, really hard. Never have brought myself to delete the whole thing, though. All they share with DA:I is being on the same drive, but they have different folders and sub-folders. The moment when I broke TES:V is very close to the moment when DA:I problems started happening, so it makes me wonder... The reason for breaking TES:V if that needs to be mentioned is too many animations script extender couldn't handle.

    1)  I don't know of a way a failed mod script issue can hurt DAI from skyrim....it maybe in some weird way have, but I honestly doubt it unless the crash caused you to somehow corrupt core files, which SHOULDN'T happen.  And if it did, wow, you are really really unlucky or just special like that...lol...

    2)  What anti-virus are you using??  I know you said you disabled it, BUT I saw a post here recently that until they put in exceptions or exclusions for Origin, DAI and DAI folder in Users, it STILL caused issues.....Anti-Virus is just being a total PIA on DAI lately.

    3)  Usually at the bottom of the DiaX file you see program crash reports, and none of yours is showing ANY reports there.  Kinda makes me think this isn't a crash but something interfering with start, such as Anti-Virus or something like that...

    4)  Did the crashes start again AFTER you moved your saves back into the game folder??   Or did you start a new game??  If it started after, the try the remove the saves and see if it will start(*with cloud saves off too).

    5)  Do you still have the GeForce experience enabled??  The program you used to upgrade your drivers to begin all this??  If so disable it...

I use Avast antivirus. Didn't disable it before, while the game was working, as it never tried to block it. But just in case disabling it every time I try to launch  it now.

If it helps, by the way, the game starts in windowed mode, then goes to the fullscreen. Screen turns black and it loads the default DA:I cursor. However, before the loading symbol appears in the right corner of the screen, I get thrown back to Origins window, from here I usually launch. So no game load seems to be going.

As for DiaX, I might have been doing something wrong? I use this guide, since I rarely make logs and never leaned deeply how to find other information in the log. So I just might be missing the point. If I'm using the wrong guide to gather info, that's the case.

The crash appeared before I moved the saves. My first thought was "well, I have a corrupted save file", so I've reinstalled the game and was going to launch it, and if it did work, I'd slowly drag old saves one by one in "Saves" folder to see which one is broken and just delete it. But clean game never launched, so I didn't have to even try. And I've disabled Cloud long ago, since on occasions it had problems with synchronising which bothered me quite a bit. Therefore, I always disable it these days.

And, yeah, I'm 'special'. I could've screwed up pretty badly, as it was my first animation attempt.

It seems so far what's been working is restoring system to the beginning of this month every time PC is booted.

Guild for DiaX is fine, it is just odd, that your are having crashes, yet no reports of them at the end when  USUALLY at the end of the DiaX file there is a heading Diagnostics and it will list five or more crash info.  You can go to just about any other DiaX file here and open them and look at the very bottom of the report and see what I mean.

So what you are saying now is, if you revert your computer to a month ago, the game plays, but if you restart it doesn't??

I know you disable it, but can your try putting Exclusions in your AV as well...sounds silly I know, BUT I saw a post that someone made here that said they had to do exclusions on AVAST because for some reason just disabling wouldn't work...don't know if funny things are going on with AV but hey, what would it hurt to try....??

Do you have Geforce experience on your computer...the Nvidea program that you updated your computer with the first time??  Is it set to run automatically??  What settings are on it??

Do you have Windows set to automatically update or is it only when you select??  Can you check to see when the last update was logged for your system??
