Island Paradise is known for it's glitching. If you're playing in Isla Paradiso, that's probably the one big reason why. Isla Paradiso has mapping issues beyond comprehension. Off the bat, I recommend downloading nraas.

Use these at your own discretion. These are modifications to the game and are not made by EA, but I can tell you for a fact they are extremely helpful.
Secondly, I reccommend not using Isla Paradiso. Move your family to a different town or just start a new game. (Your save may be broken anyway.)

You should find out if your graphics card is able to handle the Island Paradise expansion. There is a great guide here - http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_System_Requirements.
IP is full of lag and freezing issues
go to edit town move the price or prince family too they live on a red/white housboat
if the Dreggs are in a housebout move them to a house too
and the Scott family
