Re: How do I place a vampire lounge?

in the edit town click on the empty lot set the lot type-community-in the drop down menu select for example fusion lounge

IF on the other hand you have done that and the tag "disappears" but reappears when you cancel the lot placement then click on the lot build/buy as there may be something on the lot a small space rock, seed, wild flower and the game "thinks" the lot is occupied already just throw some furniture on the lot sofas or counters and the like then bulldoze the lot you should then be able to place your lot then

I appreciate the quick reply! Things still aren't working but maybe I'm doing something completely wrong. So here is what I did.
    1.) I placed a 50x50 lot on a flat area.
2.) Then made lot a community rather than residential.
3.) I selected "vampire lounge" for in the drop down bar. Clicked okay
4.) clicked on "show community lots"
5.) Hovered over "Plasma 501" vampire lounge
    6.) Clicked place copy
And then the lot icon where I would normally be able to place a building, it disappears.
Then I did what you said I should, I placed down some couches and then bulldozed it. I'm not sure if there is some option button or something I need to make sure of but I'm at a loss.

Nevermind...I'm a total idiot...I place a 50x50. But the lot size of the vampire bar is 42x55. I'm so stupid and I'm sorry I wasted your time!

@kellyus1985  Can you review precisely what you've tried so far?  The OP was trying to place the lounge on a lot that was too small to accommodate it.  If that is not the case, you could try rumbutter's suggestion of placing a few items on the lot and then bulldozing it.   That would eliminate any seeds or other objects on the ground that might be blocking the placement of the building you want.  Also, make sure that the lot is zoned community rather than residential.

I did all that and when I bulldoze it takes away the whole lot

@kellyus1985  That's why you need to put something on the lot first, like a random wall or a few pieces of furniture.  The first bulldoze command should just completely clear the lot of whatever is on it, leaving a blank space.  If the lot is already empty, or the game thinks it is, a bulldoze will delete the lot entirely.

But the other question remains:  Have you checked to make sure that the building you want to place will fit on the lot you've chosen for it?  And that the empty lot is zoned for community buildings?

@kellyus1985  Yes, because one side of the lounge you want to place is 55 squares long, so it wouldn't fit.

If you don't have any placeable grids larger than 50x50, you'll need to bulldoze an existing lot.  Or, if you'd prefer, you can build or refurbish a different gathering spot that fits into a smaller footprint.  You could check the exchange for player-built lots as well.  But be careful—some of them come with hidden custom content that can infect and corrupt your game.  If you're not familiar with the process of cleaning a download, it's probably best to stick with your own lots.

When you want to convert a different type of community lot into a vampire hangout, it's easy.  Just go to Edit Town, click on the map tag, and select the option you want from the dropdown menu.
