Sim took a free vacation and never came back + Relationships all gone?
I have the Generations pack for the Sims 3.
I had three sims in my active household a few hours ago. A father, a female teenager, and a male teenager.
The parent was offered a free vacation, so I accepted the vacation and sent the parent on the vacation.
The teens had a party at their house, cleaned the house up for the parents, and did some extra work around the house for the parent.
I got the notification saying "Uh oh! Kai and Jade's parent(s) are coming home in 2 hours!"
I spend the two hours having Kai and Jade clean up the house. The parent never came back.
I waited an additional two hours, the parent's icons were no longer grey, instead they were green.
The icons were green, but didn't have the parent's pictures in them, nor could I click on the icon to view their inventory, simology, relationships, etc.
So, I saved the game, quit the game, and re-entered the game.
When I went back into the game, the father was not part of my active household. I never got a notification about his death or anything, he just vanished, leaving the teenagers alone in the household.
In hopes of finding that the parent was still in the game, I went into [teenager] Jade's relationship tab. The tab was completely empty. I went to call a sim on Jade's cell phone, and nobody showed up that I could call. Jade had a 'special' relationship with someone too, he didn't show up when I clicked on "Ask on a date" choice in the cellphone thingy menu thing.
Thinking that Jade was glitched, I checked [teenager] Kai the same way I checked Jade. He too had a 'special' relationship with someone, and she didn't show up on the "Ask on a date" thing either, nor did anyone show up on his relationship tab.
I restarted the game again, and nothing changed. The parent was still gone, the relationships weren't fixed, etc.
Then I saw my mailbox sparkling.
(Side note: John, who is the father, used to have a relationship with Ellen. They divorced.)
Ellen would often send hate letters to John.
When I sent Kai to check the mail, there was another hate letter for John.
Usually it would say "There is a letter for John!" or something like that.
This time, it said There is a letter for !"
What do I do? I don't want to give up this household, but if I must, I will.

Update: On the menu screen, it says that the father is still part of my family, but when I enter the game ,he isn't!
