Re: Fanatec DD+ Xtreme not recognized

Hey Folks,

I have not personally seen an update on this myself. I reached out about it though. Once we get an update on it, we will post it here for you!

Thanks!

    January 10th, 2025.

Game is still incompatible with DD Extreme wheel, which was released on February 9th, 2024. It's been nearly ONE YEAR

I have supported and defended the game on message boards and forums since it's initial release. I can no longer do so. This is categorically unreasonable.

I've been unable to play the game significantly longer than I was able to play it.

Message I received from Fanatec's Level 2 tech support earlier today:

    "Good morning (redacted),

Today, I got the needed feedback regarding your problem. What I initially asumed in your case has now been confirmed.

Our IT/Development department is already aware of the fact that the GT DD X steering wheel has not yet been implemented by the game developer(emphasis mine)

We´ve just forwarded this once more, according to your case, but have to kindly ask you for your understanding, that we can not influence this any further, as sorry as we really are. Therefore, we unfortunately have to wait until the steering wheel will being updated by EA WRC. (again, mine)

If you have any else questions in the meantime, please don´t hesitate to let us know. Otherwise, we will now close this ticket as solved. If you will ever experience another error with your items, just create a new support ticket via your Fanatec-Shop account, and we will gladly assist you, shortly."

This is a problem on your end, EA. Do better.

    Same issue here.

Device:- Fanatec 15Nm DD+ GT Extreme Wheel

It's an officially licenced PS5 wheel so EA WRC need to do better with this, especially as Fanatec sponsor the WRC and they've released the replica Ford M-Sport wheel to use with these wheel bases.

The base is incorrectly recognised as a 5Nm/8Nm GT DD Pro Wheel.

Please understand the difference between the wheel bases as they are totally different.

CSL GT DD Pro 5Nm/8Nm - Works fine.

    DD+ GT Extreme 15Nm - BROKEN

Throttle/Brake work, and steering recognised OK, but.....

    No Force Feedback

No menu control (need to use PS5 controller for menu work)

    No paddle shift

    No handbrake

This is the first time I've heard of such a problem.

I also bought the DD Extreme when it was first released last year and replaced it with the DD Pro, and I've been using it with the PS5 without any problems.

Although it's still recognized as the DD Pro, the steering wheel is still working properly as before with Fanatec's CSL Elite Steering Wheel WRC, ClubSport Steering Wheel RS, and the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 and Podium Hub with real car steering wheels.

FFB was also 100% with the DD Pro, but with the DD Extreme it's around 80%, which is quite satisfactory.

However, the Podium Button Module Rally is still not recognized. (There is a problem with the driver software.)

I don't know the cause because this topic wasn't discussed on the Fanatec forum, but when a problem occurred I just restarted everything and got through it.

    Hey, folks

Wanted to reach out and see if you can take a look at the DD Xtreme PDF on page 7, you can see where it says to change it Ps/PC compatibility mode, if that makes any type of difference?

    Thanks!

No difference whatsoever for me. Inputs are showing in controls settings when I press like X or O but input isn’t registering which is my main problem and makes the game unplayable for me

It appears that if you use the DD Pro 5Nm base, it sets a compatible profile up, then plugging in the CS DD+ 15Nm base it gives you some function as it still thinks it's a DD Pro 5Nm base.

But for anyone going in dry with a CS DD+ 15Nm base, there's no function at all.

I have tried all the compatibility modes, and the best I can get is some steering and pedal function, but there's no force feedback at all, just spinning a plate with no resistance.

And still no menu functionality either.

To confirm, these are the bases we're talking about.

The official name of DD Extreme is Gran Turismo® DD Extreme.
Fanatec's product description states that this steering wheel is "designed for Gran Turismo®."
This steering wheel will not function properly, such as with button mapping, in other PlayStation racing games.
I think that racing games such as F1 use a formula style steering wheel.
I recommend using a rally style steering wheel for rally games as it w

@TA27_2T-G_kai The DD Extreme wheel should (and does) function normally in other games on both PC and playstation.  "designed for" does not mean "exclusively works with".  This button mapping issue where the wheel does not work in the menus also occurs when playing on PC.  This is an issue for the WRC developers to fix.

Don't get hung up on the steering wheel.
The DD Extreme has a great wheelbase.
Let's enjoy Le Maestros together in the next update.

The DD Extreme wheel base works fine on both PC and PlayStation with other games.
This wheel is licensed by Polyphony Digital.
It is used in Gran Turismo competitions.
The CSL Elite Steering Wheel WRC is used in eSports WRC competitions (hopefully when they resume).
This wheel works fine on Xbox.

It seems to have a different design philosophy than Thrustmaster and Logitech products.

No difference for me as of a few hours ago.

For what it's worth I've been trying every mode after each update since last April.

The game worked fine with the GT DD PRO wheel and base. It works fine with the GT DD Pro and the Formula V2.5 wheels mounted to the DD+ base. There's no reason it shouldn't work with the Extreme wheel.

F1 does not require a Formula style wheel. And WRC obviously doesn't require a "rally style" wheel.

EA_ShepardThe GT Extreme wheel still is not able to navigate the menus with the 2.2.0 release.  Its just getting really annoying to use my keyboard to start a stage, then have to quickly put it down before the countdown ends.  Maybe now that Corsair owns Fanatec, they could provide a GT Extreme wheel for your testing.
