These things need to change for F1 24!

Hi guys,

I'm probably saying that for the fourth straight year, but there are a lot of things that need to improve for the new F1 game compared to its predecessor. Among them being these three, which are just minor requests that should easily be fixable:

  1. Rework mechanical failures. While it's nice that the player can get mechanical failures as well because it adds to the realism, it's certainly very unfair that the player gets failures much more often than the AI do. I've seen a career season with 16 races, and the guy who played it, he got four failures in 10 races with the Mercedes engine, which is supposedly the most reliable one. Unless this algorithm is being reworked by say adding a failure chance to all engines like 5% to Mercedes, 20% to Ferrari, 15% to Honda and 10% to Renault, I am no longer enabling this feature anymore.
  2. Remove the top speed limiter. Oh man, this peeved me SO MUCH back in my Two Player Career when I played with Mercedes. You play Monza, Spa or Las Vegas with Mercedes and suddenly, you see all rivals zip past you. Why? Because the Mercedes can only reach 350 KPH, while the Red Bull can go 370, Ferrari and McLaren go 364, and even Renault can go 360. Make sure that the top speed is equal for ALL teams, because otherwise, it's utterly unfair. Like, set the top speed to 380. You can easily reach that with a good enough car in Las Vegas. Especially for league players, having different top speeds on all teams is very unfair, because this turns everyone away from all Mercedes powered teams save for McLaren, going to a point where potentially, only six spots are free and no one wants to fill those because the Mercedes powered teams are so slow.
  3. Don't change the handling of the cars, PLEASE. F1 23 had amazing handling at launch, and everyone loved it. But with an update that secretly changed the handling and improved AI performance, all setups are rendered obsolete. Like, why, EA SPORTS? Why, when a game is really good at launch, do you have to mix and match everything up so much that the final result at the end of the game's life is just one giant mess? If people say that handling and AI is good, keep it as is. I don't want to purchase a disc copy just to go back to version 1.0.0 if the game is a total mess like F1 23 was at the end.

The future of F1 games is hanging in the balance, and if this game is not an absolute banger beating F1 2020, this could be the end of F1 games for good. For three straight years, we had hope, and for three straight years, we were disappointed. A fourth disappointment in a row will completely wipe my remaining confidence in this franchise, and if this happens, then I won't purchase any more F1 games until a new developer takes over.

Let's hope for the best.

@LuckyNico92 Its depending on the gearbox, not the engine, thats why McLaren has different gear ratios in F1 23.. And this will most likely not matter anymore with F1 24 as they increased the revv limiter afaik which makes the teams able to reach higher speeds - which they should never reach anyway as they prefer downforce over useless topspeed for maximum 5 seconds..

Cars with a Merc gearbox will NOT be limited to 350kph in F1 24.
