What do you expect to see? Regardless of position or progress during the game session before "Mitigating Host" issue, users should not have points deducted from their total rank.

I waited 60 secs for new host, but instead was returned to the player lobby minus 16 points. This is unacceptable, players should not be deducted points for "Mitigating Host" through no fault of their own. It's adding insult to injury when a user is deducted points for no reason at all. I was considering purchasing F1 24, but multiplayer sessions have too many defects to be an enjoyable experience for the user. Between the other players cheating, deliberately wrecking players out of race and points being deducted for "Mitigating Host" or other EA related services.
What do I know about Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Quality Assurance (QA)? As a customer, I'm disappointed in your product(s). As a retired tech industry leading contributor, I'm appalled at the poor decision made by the Product and Development Managers.
I'm just a customer with over 30 yrs experience in Tech Industry

"Migrating Host" is the situation you are describing. Without a dedicated server loss of session information when you lose connection with a host (P2P 'server') is inevitable as your session is orphaned. Even if there was a dedicated server, I don't see how you losing connection to the host would result in anything different. This problem is inherent in the P2P model.
