@CMeki, love how excited you are over playing as a skeleton! :eahigh_file:  I also wonder what powers and limitations being a skeleton would have in the game? 🤔  Plus, I wonder if being a Vampire would have any effect on the bats, or vice-versa? 🤔  It might not do anything different, but then again it might! 

And like you, I am excited for all the puzzles since I love puzzle games! 🥳

Hahaha! Yeah, as someone allergic to fur, I guess a skeleton is a wise choice too haha! 🤓 Yeah, playing them like Plantsims would probably be the thing! I men, skeletons can't really eat, right? O.o

Yes, I love to do nature-like builds! Next time in the game I'll try to take some pictures of one of them :D But more tropical plants could give me more options to do other kinds of builds. Now it's my favourite is like, foresty cottage... Not in Sweden though, the trees are too high in the game lol. Trees up north really aren't, even though people are taller.. 👿

Oh, talking about that, I really should try to make my grandmother's summer house! Need to reactivate my plant-mods though, the game does not have everything for the Swedish ticket 😉

As for the Spanish translation, "Puerto" means "port" (so Puerto Rico means "rich port"!)  Similar to Puerto is the word "puerta" which means "door".  Both are a means of entering or leaving a place.

Now, the second word is more problematic since it has 3 "L's" in a row and Spanish doesn't have that, only 1 or 2. 🤔  I do not know if this is a typo or not.  I think it might be. 🤭  But whether it is supposed to be Lllamante or Llamante, knowing the Sims the way we do, this is a reference to the Sims' favorite animal, the llama! ❤️  The last part of the 2nd word "nte" really isn't anything I encountered in Spanish, but it is close to the word "monte" which is another word for "mountain" (the Spanish word for mountain that we used in school is montaña ), but I've seen "monte" used in names and in the brand "Delmonte" which would mean "of the mountain".

So, it could be that they smooshed "llama" together with "monte" to make a word meaning "mountain llama" or "llama mountain".  Or they could have just added "nte" to llama for purely creative purposes. 😃  But my final interpretation is "Mountain Llama Port" (although you could say it as "Port of the Llama Mountain" too). 😇

Of course if anyone who is fluent in Spanish has more insight, feel free to correct me or add on to what I stated! 😳 Same goes for anyone who works for EA and might know if the 3 "L's" is a typo or not and if the name actually has to do with mountains or if it is just for creative purposes! 😉

@PugLove888, thank you! i read "Lllamante" and i was very confused about the 3 L's... then i read your reference to the llama, and everything made sense. i think you're right.

"-nte" is just a way to modify a word so it's in the same "family". in this case (if we ignore the llama reference *wink*) the word "llamante" stems from "llama" (what a coincidence,right?) but it doesn't refer to the animal, it means "(to) call". so "llamante" means "caller". also, "-nte" is quite often seen in surnames (like you mentioned), at least where i live.

also, an interesting thing is (well, it is to me 🤓), that there is also a similar word that stems from "llama", but in this case meaning "flame". so the "-nte" would modify it to mean "llameante" (which was one of the words i misheard), meaning "flaming". what if they are making a double reference? it's getting pretty creative... 😃

yes, "monte" is a (small) mountain, i think "mount" would be it? 🤔

Thanks for mentioning that "nte" is often in names!  I'd seen it before, but I couldn't think of any other words with it and it wasn't taught as a rule like the ending of "-dad" corresponding to the English ending of "-ity".  (Universidad/University, etc.)  Now that you mention it, I remember seeing the last name "Bustamente".  And now that triggers memories of other words like "imediamente" meaning "immediately" !  I proabaly didn't remember it because it is an adverb! 😳😃

So maybe the official meaning  of Puerto Llamante is " Llamaly Port" or "Llamaish Port"! 😉

and the llama vibes? yay! btw, did you know i pronounce "llama" (the animal *and* the flame) as "shama"?

as for surnames, anything goes, right? so many spellings for what is essentially the same one. i assume it is because, when people left (for example) Europe for the Americas, a lot was lost in "translation"... or maybe by whoever wrote them down? what do you think?
i know someone (whose family was originally from... Russia, i believe) who has a slightly different surname to... her cousin's!

and i think "Llamaish Port" sounds especially nice! :D

yes! the pack does look interesting. i'd love to see more of the architecture and of those mysterious areas signalised by question marks. if you buy it, i'd love it if you could post some screenshots.

@EA_Mai, I finally watched the entire video of the first Jungle Adventure livestream and about 20 min (so far) of the 2nd livestream!  I love the rope bridge, and the graphics on the sunsets, rainbows, and waterfalls are stunning! ❤️  I also love that we have a new harvestable tree in the game!  But the snakes slithering across the jungle grounds startled me -- nice effect!  And thouse views!  I think my Sims will go on vacation here, if only for the beautiful scenery!  What a great job! 😎  I've only got through the first part of the temple livestream so I'm "dying" to find out what awaits my Sims in the temples when I play!  😃😉

@CMeki, I'm so sorry you are allergic to fur! Can you have any furry pets?  If you can't, at least the ones in Cats & Dogs won't bother you! 

Did you see the first Jungle Adventure livestream (February 9) yet? Towards the end of it they show what happens to a skeleton that eats!  It's not pretty! 🤒😃:eahigh_file:

The plants from the livestream look fantastic! ❤️  But I also love the "foresty cottage" look like you do! ❤️  My bother has been to Sweden a long time ago with his soccer/football team for a tournament!  I'm still jealous because I love to travel!! 🤨  I did not know that Sweden's trees weren't that tall (but I had heard the people were!)😉  I would love to see your Sims4 version of your Grandmother's house 🥳 (but even if its in the Gallery, I can't play it since I don't use Mods or CC in my game.)  

Oh, in the first livestream, there was a swarm of bees, but the Sim they were controlling remained clam so nothing happened! Whew! 🙂

@unseenlarks, its always easier to catch what someone says when it is also written down, be it in a foreign language or your native one!  Also, since the word "Llamante" in  Puerto Llamante is a made-up Spanish based word combining other words or endings, I can't blame you for not exactly understanding them, especially since there was a typo in the word! 😉

Although the way (most of ) my Spanish teachers pronounced the double "L" with a sound like the English "Y", I've heard some dialects of Spanish that prounouce it with a "SH" or an English  "J" sound.  My teachers would accept any of these pronunciations, as long as you kept it consistent and didn't use all of them in a conversation! 😃

So far I haven't seen what the question marks in Jungle Adventure will signalize once the explorers uncover that area ... if they showed it in the first livestream, I must have missed the reveal, and I've only gone through the first part of the 2nd livestream so far.  😉

Yes!  Having a real volcano in The Sims would definitely change the game! 🤭  It would be more like The Sims' creator Will Wright's original game Sim City! 👿😎 For now we have to settle with the little volcano that the children bring home as school projects from the Parenthood pack! 😉

Yes, I know what you mean about names changing!  My maternal grandmother's maiden name was shortened by some family members so that it sounded English, and not Italian!  My maiden name was also changed when my great-grandparents on my dad's side of the family came over to the United States.  Some of the letters were arranged or a syllable was removed (we aren't really sure).  Also,my paternal grandmother's name kept the original Polish pronunciation, but Americanized the spelling, while cousins of hers did the opposite! (This is probably what happened to your Russian friend).   Similar things happened in my husband's family and one of my best friends' family.  Sometimes the family will change the name before they reach the country they are moving to because they wanted to ensure they would be accepted by the officials of that country.  Other times it is the officials of the new country that change the name for them, usually because they can't understand the actual name! ☹️  This makes it so difficult to trace your roots! 

I know what you mean about slang words and different dialects causing confusion within the same language!  My mom's parents rarely spoke Italian to each other because each of their sides of the family came from different parts of Italy!  Also, in high school I had a friend who was from Florida and was of Cuban decent, who went to school with me in Texas.  She always said she much preferred speaking Spanish to me than to the native Spanish speakers in Texas because they spoke a different dialect and used different slang that what she was used to.  I didn't use any of the slang, so she loved to talk to me in Spanish even though I wasn't fluent! 😮 🙂 ❤️  And don't feel embarrassed about watching some Spanish language films with subtitles! My mom can't understand programs and movies from England half of the time!  When I lived with my parents, I would always have to translate for her -- from English to English! 😃 :eahigh_file:

As for Jungle Adventure and the new location of Purerto Llamante, since you are a native speaker and like Llamaish Port, that is what we both will call it in English! 😇

And I yes I saw the Archeology table !  I love for my Sims to work on skills, so this is a must have item! ❤️  I also love for my Sims to collect stuff, so I have the feeling this will be an important part of many of my Sims' homes! 😎

I'm also excited about the new harvestables (avocados, black beans, and a new fruit that effects mood!), as well as a new food stand with local dishes! 🥳

Yes, I noticed a South American flare in the pack!  Arepas from Venezuela and Columbia, Peruvian hats, Incan influences, etc.  As well as the Spanish Colonial and Mission-style architecture, like you mentioned! 

According to the most recent Developer's Talk Livestream, it seems that the question marks will never really be "uncovered" since each time you complete a temple, the temple will reset itself.  They stated that the question marks are just there to denote that there are several places to explore, and that you can't just travel there from the map; you have to travel there via the main entrances!  So, it is kind of like secret passages in a castle! ❤️🥳

@unseenlarks, "A day without learning is not a day/is a lost day" is an awesome saying!  ❤️  

And speaking of learning, the school projects that came with the Parenthood Game pack take longer than regular homework, but can really bump up your Sim student's grade!  Parents and siblings can help too!  I once caught a parent working on her teen's school project by herself! 🤨 😃  Each school project has 3 levels of quality, depending on how hard the Sim worked on them.  But most of the projects are just like art items that can be viewed; a few of them your Sim is able to activate and they perform a small action.  So, no, the little volcano school project is not dangerous at all, and isn't even messy. (I'm thinking of the volcano school project in an episode of the old television show "The Brady Bunch", which is a classic episode and one of my favorites! 😃:eahigh_file: ) I really love all the touches they put into the Parenthood GP! 🥳 But I love playing families, so if I could only have one GP, Parenthood would be it.  But thank God I can have all of them! 😳 .

If your paternal grandparents are of Italian decent, we could be related! 😉  I love learning new words in English, (but really, I love learning anything in any language!) 🤓 I wish I had a little book on Simlish! I knew more Simlish words or phrases, but each version of the Sims has different favorite phrases.  (its as if they are speaking a different dialect of Simlish! 😃😉 )  Sul sul, deg deg, nooboo, and chum chum are the ones that seem the most consistent. I almost forgot about chum chum since in TS4 I rarely order pizza since it often never gets delivered! 😮😠😢 

I caught one of the Sims in the Jungle Adventure livestream (the first livestream) use some real English words.  It's funny when they sometimes do that!  I think they said "Ouch!" when they tried to clear branches and vines from a gateway with their bare hands!  🤭😃

I will try to get a screen shot of the avocado tree, an avocado, and a Sim eating an avocado for you. I wish I liked avocados.  Everybody else in my family loves them, but I'm the oddball!  But I'm always glad when my Sims get new food to eat, even if its something I don't like.  I guess I feel bad for them since they can only eat stuff that is in the game.  😳  When I find all of the new dishes in the Jungle Adventure GP, I'll update you!  😇
